I made soup and donated it.. was flavour and texture was thin like a squash (the little yellow ones we call in OZ or a zucchini). It took a lot of spice to encourage any real flavour. They are good for blowing up and turning into boats more so.

I sowed three in hyperspace and they are all bigger than these but cameras can't work in hyperspace so u just have to believe me the biggest weighed just over 3.2 tonnes.

lol Cheshire... glad there was some joy for others with my growing obsession with growing something

I am not going to eat or smoke

I think the mini-me has had a good intro to green-thumb world of wonders.....skills being lost in modern Australia,

so it has served a purpose.

^ "I sowed three in hyperspace..." - thats not code for jackin off to porn is it? rofl

Seriously too much jackin off hinders your Pumpkin growin....

OK I am done - I have freed the beast from the vine.

Taswegians can't grow pumpkins..... huh  , double huh  ....lol

Estimated somewhere about 570lbs (258ish Kg) by over the top taping.....I reckon the thick skinned bugger is heavier but.

Did a couple of minor spurts Stillman, but was slowing down all the time, really I think it needed another heavy duty flogging with ferts a couple of times - but works been pretty hectic with travel so it was on the backburner.

Really should have hit it up around the time of the spurts :( . I am now intrigued to know how thick the flesh actually is.

Pollination was somewhere about the start of January.... so I'd say about 90 days of fruit growth (+/-?).

lol....the little man is happy now he can climb onto it  we have had a bit of argie bargie on that front for the last month.

Kids love jumping on them so do adults...My Ekka pumpkin is still ticking along hopefully it will creep over 150 kg that would be a good size I reckon with a fair chance in the field for a ribbon. What I have been growing lately is this Morado maize, tall and you can eat it. Maybe another Summer competition?

Sorry for the delay getting back to everyone I've been stupidly busy with a few projects, WB the Ekka grow rotted out before the comp unfortunately it tapped 140kg so not as big as my first baby. I have a few of tall maize and sunflower seeds as the moment looking forward to next summer to kick in.

Bugger Stillman....I am thinking it becomes a very fine line between getting them going hard and ultimate rapid demise.

lol....I am already planning the next pumpkin season  Taking a bit of time now to really get the bed going on now.

This has nothing to do with buggering Stillman. I had that problem when I was a teenager, not long after I got it hard it was all over. Premature ejaculation I think they call it. :slap:

Sorry WB I couldn't resist that, I'm in one of those weird moods.

So who is the winner? .

I reckon its a draw. Both Stillman and waterboy grew impressive pumpkins...great effort. :)
