Thanks for sharing these solomon. Felt also in love with zellys crosses and so did many others. Great solomon. I have a small mate lj x vrg. I am not a good grafter, only a few grafted, and i am always happy when the graftingstock and scion are melting together. Exciting.

lophty_tricho
Hi cactus people just wondering if anyone has seen this before? its a T.peru seedling which is expressing a mutation reminiscent of M. geometrizans boobs. Still early days... Just before this new growth emerged there seems to be an infection of the meristem. The spines came out distorted, bent and subsequently fell out leaving a ring of damaged areoles. looks like there's some deformed ribs halfway down too....any ideas?

One of my bigger ones did a similar thing, but is now growing normal. I changed the spot and i think that stressed the plant. Did you change something before it happend to you plant?
lophty_tricho
I moved it into more shade for spring and have been watering weekly. Over winter it just got rain, which was not much.
Inyan
4 cotyledon seedling was noticed today. Appears to be the only one I've had out of this bunch so to the grafting board. Here is hoping it maintains some freakish qualities.
