Jox Posted March 12, 2014 Hey hostilis, very nice little plant. I was under the impression that L.diffusa X L.fricii was not possible, I have read reports were it has been tried both ways without any success. I have never tried this cross my self. Cheers Jox
hostilis Posted March 12, 2014 I'm not positive on the species. The person who made these seeds said that he pollinates his fricii and diffusa at the same time and that it could be a diffusa x fricii cross. So it's probably just diffusa then if the cross is not possible.

mushroomman Posted March 15, 2014 The first one looks like it might be one of Hellonasty's tpm x ss02 crests and I think the other is hamiltons peru/cuzco crest.
mutant Posted March 16, 2014 I wonder if these are the same clone (the more cresty is an ex graft) that just look different or there are more forms of myrti monstrosa.
myco Posted March 17, 2014 Your so lucky with your location mutant you have some of the most awesome crests I've seen and so many of them to
mutant Posted March 17, 2014 Indeed I am lucky having been born in Greece (see I am not bitching about greek economy despite having my GH destroyed twice in the last 6 months) - I am a Saggittarius with Saggitarian ascedant for fucks sake. If I am not lucky then who is? Seriously I believe the sun here does most of the work. I am only luck to realised and take advantage of that. I got many and nice (you say) crests. Its easy and just takes a couple years. First you need to cut them. Most people dont wanna do this and I understand this. Learning where, when and how to cut is also important and one of the most exciting moments of crests propagation, as its then when you chose and project at the future shape of the cactus. What I am implying is that cool specimens come from cool (nicely thought out) cuttings.

mutant Posted March 25, 2014 (edited) hey quarterflesh, how old are your seedlings? ******* have I told you I have come to tell the one pachanoi monster from the other without tags? I could even say one (kada strain) grows somewhat slower, but I am not sure. the cresty-cresty is definately more cresty, the other (source: kada) is less cresty, and even when it crests, its bigger and more massive hey sabry this pachanoi monstrosa is awesome . I am trading or paying for it, for I sense its different from the one I got... maybe not but hey... how long do you got it ? the kada strain never terminated f.e. and of course paying for variegated pachanoi or other tricho. I am very interested in what could be called the "anus cactus" in the pachanoi depertment Edited March 25, 2014 by mutant
