katu Posted April 14, 2015 Hey Dawnbeaver is that loph "koike"?
Philocacti Posted April 18, 2015 So I've had eileen for about 3 years now and it's not doing so well in my environment. It grows a column and once it reaches 30 cm is stalls and throws a new pup. I've took cuttings and tried a couple in some shade and a few in direct sun all day. The ones in the shade became active and started growing again while the ones in the sun are still dormant (?????). Last year I grafted a tip to a small Stenocereus pup; so now I grafted a tip to a much bigger cutting to see how it'll perform
dawnbeaver Posted April 18, 2015 Hey Dawnbeaver is that loph "koike"? I'm not sure, dont think so.
Psiphi Posted April 27, 2015 Probably 4 months since this one took. Loph williamsii seedling a few weeks old was grafted to kk339 year old seedling due to boredom and excess seedlings. Looks like it wants to bend to one side.
Berengar Posted April 27, 2015 That's definitely not Lophophora, seems to be a Mammillaria of some kind.
Psiphi Posted April 27, 2015 (edited) Yeah, right, thought it looked strange. Was hoping for something fucked, but not that fucked ha. The ungrafted ones look so much like L will . Seems I have gotten a shorter end of a stick on a seed trade than I would like lol. Though an honest mistake, I'm sure. Thanks for clearing that up Edited April 27, 2015 by Psiphi
Berengar Posted April 27, 2015 Perhaps that was just one seed accidentaly mixed in, and you picked for grafting the seedling that looked larger than the rest.
Psiphi Posted April 27, 2015 I was thinking along those lines too, Just my luck haha. Thanks again
mystical oyster Posted May 1, 2015 Chopped these dichotomous dicks off a tbm crest.. Interested to see if the crest will continue or if it will pup like tbm
mutant Posted May 2, 2015 Mystical oyster, please bring the update of your experiment to the bridgesii monstrosa discussion thread. Check it out its a cool thread. I am trying to root 2 dicks of tb crest (one without areoles too) http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=41050&hl=
mystical oyster Posted May 2, 2015 ok thanks mutant, I'm also trying to root a piece of the crest, its been months, almost rotted, almost shriveled up to nothing.. but looks like it might be finally rooting.. seems tbmc is harder to root then tbm, at least for me..

djmattz0r Posted May 13, 2015 Turned this: Into these: Seems to have been a 100% success rate even with a little bit of red fungal stuff showing up since it decided to rain right after I grafted. crest1 crest2 No pics of the slab grafts since they are still rubber banded.
Philocacti Posted May 13, 2015 The group on the right, the one in the middle, did you only cut one rib vertically? I can see the vascular ring up high and most of the ribs are still on. Can you elaborate.
djmattz0r Posted May 13, 2015 I tried to cut the vascular core length wise to do 2 slab grafts to get a bunch of pups and it was a little crooked. That side in particular is not attached well to the scion but the part with the core is well connected. I will try to get some better pictures when I go check em out at work. (moved em to the greenhouse at work for better growth)

zed240 Posted August 10, 2015 mysubtleascention - you have wonderful growing skills. Thanks so much for posting your plants that came from my seeds too. Brings a tear to my eye to know they are living on over on the other side of the world! And the ones you posted in the scop thread, also amazing work! You have got them all to such a great size in such a short time!
