∂an
Today I went collecting lots of weeds to make compost tea, and watered the garden about 3 times as it was so hot and lots of fun too. Vine and rubiaceae are chilling in a plastic tub to maintain some humidity: A forest of other friends are staying cool in the part shade:

☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ
17 hours for cacao to sprout? surely that can't be right,.. is that to be expected from 'fresh from the pod' seed? if so , dang!
MeanGreen
I believe cacao seeds have to be fresh from the pods anyway, they aren't viable when dried. I also think I read that they often start germinating while still in the fruit so on a good ripe one you may have some that are almost ready to pull out the cotyledons.

Under humid conditions they sprout in the pod, on the tree. The trees grow great here in northern Australia, but the fruit mature while its still wet, which of course defeats the whole purpose (for chocolate you need the seeds). I gave up on em years ago.

Inyan
The only variety I know is strong or weak. If it is strong and grows well then it survives. If it is weak and grows poorly then it gets culled. I don't need bug magnets.

Gimli
It has been a while since I posted in here With a recent purchase, the seller chucked in this Ceylon spinach (Talinum fruticosum). Will divide it up soon A kind and generous user sent these little Datura metel seedlings express. They arrived last Wednesday and had to sit in the parcel facility overnight as I missed getting there by 5pm. I wasn't sure they were going to make it but they have come back to life Gastrolobium stenophyllum and parviflorum seedlings. A little etiolated even though they are in filtered shade. Hopefully they will come good. Stenophyllum is on the priority 3 list. Picked up this Vienna White x Narrow leaf today. That little sucker has one tiny root and will be removed in a few weeks when it's more capable of supporting itself. My PlantHelper throwing some nice new shoots. Super happy with it. I want to break one branch that you see trailing to the side and jam it in soil. Hmmm 2 red leaf var and 1 planthelper cuttings. Top left was a little small and somehow was buried after an earlier repot, but it is still alive. Very hard plant. My TBM family. Love these guys Pachanoi 'Yowie'. I got the mid cut there from Alienteaparty a few years ago when I was around more often. It came with a small pup which has since been removed and is actually behind this pup on it's own roots. Mostly PC in the background, but I don't give a fuck. Tricho is tricho. Some years ago I picked up a small rooted crown cut from someone up in the hills of Perth. I wish I had of got the other one he was selling. I was told it is a Scop x Super Pedro. The crown removed from the bit in the picture is around 70cm now. Chunky as. Cuzco pupping like a weed. You can see the one in the background also has 2 new pups. This year alone I have approx 20 new cuzco pups alone Picked up 2x Psychotria 'Nexus'. The mother plant was flowering which is why this also. Whether it will actually throw seed, I don't know? Doubt it? I cut a few leaves and put them in some 'premium potting mix' inside a humidity dome as a test. I have other leaves incoming and I was told to use sphagnum moss, so see how it goes. All a learning curve for me Picked up this B caapi 'Caupuri' knotted caapi as some people call it Also got this B Caapi 'Tucunaca' That's all for now Edit: spelt parviflorum wrong lol missed the v Edited November 19, 2017 by Gimli

DualWieldRake
Not quite a perennial, wich feels kinda dirty but hey. Someone who isnt's me knows this guy who knows this guy who has a dog that pretty much behaves like a human. So this dog found a bunch of seeds in his weed. It was advertised as afghani weed but this dog has a great sense of smell and recognized it as what he has previously learned is beeing chitral (from pakistan). This dog found 13 seeds of wich 12 sank. After about 24 hours the dog was worried the seeds might drown and planted all 12 that sank. Most of them already had a tiny root peeking out. Even though the law where this dog lives only allows 5 Cannabis plants without artificial lighting, the dog said fuck that. In case of 12 dog is trained to dual wield rake.

☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ
took one shot of monin coconut syrup, one britvic pineapple, one britvic grapefruit, 300ml vitacoco, pulp of soursop, pulp of cupuacu and mixed together shaken ..what a flavour to enjoy watching the magickal garden pods going about their everyday way and the toads in their holes looking all cosy and tucked in., and then later one sanpellegrino chinotto mixed with one britvic orange and i think for a short sweet moment that bob suddenly happened to be my uncle while watching the 2mm ants traversing all the pot edges and wondering what they're up to this time. Gimli
Brugmansia suaveolens finally coming back from the dead? Nexus leaf @ 18 days. 8 of 9 have thrown roots so far. 7 are half leaves, 1 is whole. Wish caapi could be grown the same. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZ4ckQBCo6E Caapi vine has hooked onto the frangipani just like I wanted it to My other one needs a trellis soon though. Go for the lemon tree ya f*cker Took another branch of Ceylon spinach off and chucked it in some p/mix. Grows like a weed. Got 8 cuttings now. My Adenium obesum (desert rose) is about to flower! Happy days. Sowed some Datura metel cv Wondrousbella and Datura discolor. Potted up some D metel seedlings. BAP'd my Scop x Super Pedro a few weeks ago and it has 1 pup that's just burst through and 3-4 more areoles which are swole like f*ck. I somewhat regret using it. Wish I had've only done a single areole instead of the 5-6 I did. The zelly columns I BAP'd haven't done a bloody thing though. Time will tell. Harvested some tobacco spp leaf last week and got the shit hanging in the shower. Slowly going brown and starting to give off a nice aroma no idea what I'll do with it since I don't smoke lol maybe a giveaway. Hopefully around a pouch worth when done. See how my estimates go. Need to get more cactus. Hybrids etc. Add some variety to my garden of PC and cuzco lol
