I sowed some white sage, valerian, skullcap, salvia splendens 'blaze of fire', elecampane, holy basil, and mexican mint.

I was very pleased when i visited bunnings yesterday to discover they are stocking a lovely new potting mix, so i had to stock up <___base_url___>/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.png

I also rearranged my windowsill plants ans repotted a couple of kanna plants.

Nice to see the sun!

have just been weeding getting a couple of pots out, planting as many seedling into the cactus gardens that i can, am now sorting through plants that i dont need, and picking up ones that ive been after since i started collecting.

stockpiling soil and manure for when i plant and pot up plants.

more weeding of the cactus garden, really need a crapload of mulch for the cactus garden buy have put if off for ages, after i fully weed i will get some nice rock mulch to get ontop of the weed situation glycosphate doesnt really work unless you nulch straight away as the fastest weed colonizes first then spreads like wild fire due to no competition, 1 season i sprayed and regret it due to the massive amounts of weeds now going were once i sprayed, all learning. starting to use water crystals in some pots that require regular watering will save work and get more from the water applied, and increase time in between waterings, bulks up soil like crazy,

need to repot and use it with my catha's as im sure they would love more water

It is beginning to get a. It colder here at night, have to prepare to bring my plants inside.

I feel like a pirate, walking to them with my machete, far away from humans.

Where I like it best

Found a new flower on one of my lophs. They've just had a good feed. This, along with the turn of the season, has spurred them into a lot of new growth. This is the first time this one has flowered since I acquired it a couple of years ago, so this is really nice to see. Hopefully my rabbit doesn't eat this flower like he did my last one

And some new pups! I love seeing this sort of fresh, healthy new growth on a loph! So exciting :drool2:

And the worm farm is going nicely. The worm tea comes in handy and I can't wait for the castings.

It is the best beer in the world! i have this book sacred and herbal beers and was inspired from that.

but the one i bottled was pretty basic. just a ginger beer kit with added coca and damiana.

i am making at the moment sassafras, damiana, ginger, Muira Puama, coca, chocolate and vanilla beer.... not sure if it really a beer.

There was a good brewing thread (or two) in here somewhere, worth a read as I recall.

Yesterday: Chilled out for most of the afternoon with a fellow SABer discussing philosophy, economics, gardening, biology, education, permaculture and the nature of reality etc.

Today: Planting an exciting selection of different Fabaceae seeds.

Found that about 10 of my custard apple seeds have sprouted! Potted up individual germinating seeds in small pots of seed-raising mix and watered with Seasol solution. Hoping my mulberry cutting will root. I placed it in a small glass of 50/50 water/seaweed plant starter: http://greenharvest.com.au/tools/organic_fertiliser_prod.html#SeaweedPlantStarter

Inspected my capsicum & rockmelon seedlings, going good. Moved my krachai seedling as it was getting too much sun.

Loving the weather today!

Busy afternoon sowing the following:

D. metel yellow

D. metel purple

D. inoxia

D. stramonium

Papaver 'Mammoth'

P. viridis

And currently soaking I have more Acacia acuminata seed than I care to count and 3x phleb seed

This morning was rather eventful too. Planted some yams in the vege patch, patted the neighbours cat, neemed the caapi, propagated some peres, admired a sulcorebutia in flower and showed some fellow cactus enthusiasts around the garden.

And for tomorrow even more is planned...

(Yesterday)

Transplanted some banana pups to a sunny spot.

Re-potted an Ololiuqui into a largish tub.

Watered the Cyathea tree-ferns - recently rescued from a rural dam repair.

Sprouted some Tulsi seeds (still viable!)

Stared at the MH seedlings.

Stared at the various Acacia seedlings

Mulched the veggie garden.

And-

Planted out the caapi - I am a bit stressed by this - (why is it so windy today?) - most sacred plants seem to die on me the first time I look after them to remind me to be humble <___base_url___>/uploads/emoticons/default_blush.png . But it was not thriving in the pot and I was going to have to do this eventually. It's in a sheltered and well prepared spot, so I just need to remember that most living things that I care about are capable of looking after themselves without me supervising their every moment <___base_url___>/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.png

First real flower today! I've been waiting so long! Put them in in April, I like to put them early because the cold make them stand up straight and not fall all over the place.

some strains take the heat a bit better than others, tassie ones are quite heat sensitive, and often fail to flower in the hotter climates...

Checked my cactus count, because I know recently I've lost a few of the weaker peyote seedlings, not sure why they just went a yellowish colour or suddenly died.

I still have 37 seedlings so I can lose some without feeling it to much.

it may have been the decrease in temp here (even indoors britain can get quite chilly), it might have been me not being able to leave my lights on where I live now (meaning they're now experiencing a shortening day) or it may be pests :-S

Most of the rest of my peyote seedlings look fine :-)

My Salvia are all doing well, my blosser especially is rooting heavily and going really tall :-), my original Bunnell is turning into a bush, it's clone is doing well too :-)

The Baobab seedling is doing ok, a few weeks ago it had a bit of an infection so I had to prune that part off, it's come back really strongly and is branching lots, something about the way it grows looks so weird to me.

Just ordered some B. Caapi seeds and team why is generously sending me some P. Viridis leaves so I'm really excited to see when they arrive in the post. It'd be a laugh to try to train B. Caapi around Psychotria, Ayahuasca in one pot ;-)

loosing some is a part of the process. Always is!

been giving lots of attention to all of my cacti, and being a bit misanthropic.

Gosh, I wish more people had a cactus attitude!

Wolfs are better people than us
