What did you do in your sacred garden today?

Recommended Posts

my curry tree and mimosa hostillus sharing a root space. to me it's like flatmates. the first two years the curry seemed stunted but now both seem to be happy sharing root ball nutrients....yes, yes, ... i know i will have to separate for maximum growth......but i love how they seem to have finally worked out the dishwashing roster.

Laid some weed mat and shoveled half a metre of crushed tuscan rock into my new 12 x 8ft greenhouse. Installed a kickass misting system. Building some shelves tomorrow then it's ready for fillin'

My tiny rivea has taken off insanely , I heard they grew fast but it went from like three leaves and 10 cm to a small little bushel with about 40 leaves in a month . Baby wood rose are really not doing much at all , even though they are in the same spot , same potting mixture as the rivea .

My poor peach brug was taking off had got to about 40 cm tall and was really starting to put some size into the leaves after a repot , but the entire thing has been mauled by caterpillars while I've been busy with my daughter in hospital . Is there an easy solution to caterpillars or a natural option so i do not have to use an insecticide

I'll add pictures later

Scored a Calycanthus floridus to contrast the white of Osmanthus x burkwoodii and Datura wrightii (and ofcourse adding more fragrance)

I took some cuttings of my Sceletium tortuosum plant today.

I was able to take 12 cuttings and that allowed me to harvest a little handful of leaves that I'm going to try and prepare.

large.IMG_20170523_181007-2016x1512.jpg. large.IMG_20170523_181301-1512x2016.jpg.

Anyone can outline the "oven tek" for me please? Sun fermentation seems a bit gross and I heard it doesn't really make a difference compared to oven drying.

^Sun fermentation tastes better IMO, and for me always a better product than what has been oven prepped.

Some things can't be rushed, however I reckon thats too small an amount for a sun ferment, yield in gunna be low.

Packed up some plants to head out to new homes. Looked in greenhouses trying to work out where to make space to overwinter a few things....lol.....walked away in the end, haven't got the headspace - maybe tomorrow:lol:
