mutant
thanks for awesome photos!!!awesome plants I haven't been doing very well with. I haven't really read up but I am convinced by now they have at least some special requirements / resting periods... I might show you what I have to maybe have some help from you , as your plants seem to be thriving!
WoodDragon
I once had about 40 different stapeliad varieties, but I was ripped off twice. I've had a bugger of a time trying to ressurect again - the second time a really generous collector helped me out but I haven't been able to find his contact details. I'm still only back to about a dozen. And for anyone with an interest, this the the go-to site:http://www.stapeliads.info/serv/core.s3
watertrade
- the second time a really generous collector helped me out but I haven't been able to find his contact details. I think I stumbled across this guy - I went from about 5 Asclepiads to about 40 overnight thanks to him. - then as quick as he was on the net he disappeared again. I had his phone number but he wasn't answering. I haven't really figured them out yet - my next approach is to give lots of shade and water more often. bogfrog
Wow what a beauty. I had a crested stapelia leedertziae but i lost 90% of it to rot.Still have a tiny piece i'm trying to root up.What sort of mix do you guys use for stapelia?I have been using normal cacti mix but my plants really dont look too happy. They are all this sickly pale pink colour.
CβL
I had problems with my succulent mixes as well (was using the same thing I gave my Trichocereus), but I think I found that they simply prefer a really sandy mix, that has very little organics in it. I'm not very good with succulents (yet), so I'm not even sure which plants preferred it.
mutant
my plants arent beautiful, but you might tell me what to do to make them beautiful even learn their nameshttps://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/applications/core/interface/imageproxy/imageproxy.php?img=http://s20.postimage.org/jnfwtnmx9/P1090147.jpg&key=8598b52fb605d277e5a358d9ccc69ea28929b7191a105ad6501153db5675c028upload picshttps://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/applications/core/interface/imageproxy/imageproxy.php?img=http://s20.postimage.org/t6pln4afh/P1090149.jpg&key=72269867fc607ad58182eeb69a571593f55384e9fd9f129df9b38d0e7cf1ee48photo uploaderThis looks like something I had grown from seed, not Hoodia nor Stapelia, but haven't got it to flower but one time. It seems I keep changing it positions, propably watering it in wrong periods. I have beet rotting a re-rooting these plants quite a while. And I haven't really tried a bit to provide with what they like. Edited January 6, 2013 by mutant
