"Scarlet Belle" atop my miranda's medium using a conductive metal was a mistake i used aluminum foil as a reflector and this turned out to be a bad thing

RyanVolle Posted November 2, 2012 yeah its a aussie native!! i had seeds last years and no luck???? can you give me its species? maybe it's a pygmy and it can be propagated by gemmae or the seeds need cold stratification
Stillman Posted November 3, 2012 I used to grow the western Oz pygmy species had about 8 varieties they were awesome. But I managed to lose them over a very hot summer and they never came back in winter. Love how they shoot there little offsets. I'd find them like a metre away growing in the ground. I just have a few drosera and sarencena (spelling) my brother in law is growing about 40 different varieties of nepenthes from seed they are pretty interesting plants.

RyanVolle Posted November 3, 2012 d. capensis D. capensis seeds shouldn't be a problem. what's your mix? did you pollinate your flowers yourself or did you let them self-pollinate? i'd recommend this to you: http://www.growsundews.com/sundews/Drosera_capensis.html sweet! got any neps for me?? hahaah i tryed them from seed too had no fuken luck!!?!! did ya hav yas in tha ground [pygmy] nep seeds can take around... usually 6 months sometimes a year to germinate so patience is a key. not THE key

waterboy 2.0 Posted November 3, 2012 I grew the pygmy drosera for a while, they came free when I ordered some seed a few years back. They really are beautiful little things. There are a lot of species I found when I looked into them. Brings memories back may have to hunt some more down.
