Yaaayyy! Finally got validated... Greetings fellow Cactiphiles!

So my first question is what are the different crests that exist?

I know the basic Pachanoi, Peruvianus, and Bridgesii monstrose crests, but what are the more rarer(or lesser known) ones?

I received a beautiful "Trichocereus Peruvianus X Juul's Giant" Crest recently. Never having heard of one before, and had true love when I first opened the package. The only other hybrid crest I have seen is a TPM x SS02.

So what other hybrid crests exist? Also, does a Trichocereus Bridgesii NON-monstrose crest exist?

Here's My Beauty!

So my first question is what are the different crests that exist?

Cresting or fasciation is a form of mutation and occurs in many different plants (as well as cacti) and happens when the apical meristem (growing tip) starts to grow laterally. There isn't a set number crest forming species that I'm aware of, due to the inability to directly confirm the absence of cresting in any one species.

Amen Ambient, I should have probably worded that "What are the different crests that have been seen?"

Excellent find on the Trichocereus Bridgesii Cristata DarkSpark! I saw that page before, but definitely need to make it more of a habit to check it up more.

And Greetings thed00dabides!

Another good question, has anyone seen or got a pic of a variegated crest?

Most cacti I know of have a crested form, just some are rarer than others. The availability of crests will depend largely on where you live, in you're case (US) there will be a much wider availability than here In AU :(

Some of the more common crests I've noticed around here are T.peruvianus, cereus sp, mammillaria sp, euphorbia lactea, echeveria sp, opuntia sp, echinopsis sp, gymnocalycium mihanovichii & rarely seen but in au are T.Bridgesii & L.W. (This is by no means a conclusive list, just some I've seen in au pics or for sale).

Variegated crests do exist, but it's kinda a double rare and even less common than either on their own.

Just google image search variegated crests and you will see there are a few around.
