0 CβL Posted September 16, 2012 I'm pretty sure it's a Mammillaria, but not sure which. Could be a Mammillaria Geminispina

0 Jox Posted September 16, 2012 (edited) Hi flumsquid, Its a Mammillaria, I think albilanata but theirs a few very similar. Sorry to say but I highly doubt you will get any viable seed from crossing Mammillaria x Lophophora. Edited September 16, 2012 by Jox
0 flumsquid Posted September 16, 2012 (edited) i know its a long shot .i also did eg.'s cement tek on the stigma ,hopefully this allows her to accept the mamms pollen cheers Edited September 16, 2012 by flumsquid
0 Evil Genius Posted September 16, 2012 (edited) Interesting. Rarely tried crossing Mammillaria x something else as most of them are selffertile and the fertilisation already occures before you can get another pollen in there. But you could try with a pollenmix of diffrent types (lobivia, Echinopsis, Trichocereus, Gymnocalycium,...) for mammillaria x sth. , Dont think that attempting to cross Lophopora x Mammillaria is that hopeless. Theres the problem of many Lophophoras being selffertile so i would choose one that is self-sterile. In this case, it can work. 0 Snowfella Posted September 16, 2012 I'd guess either M. flavicentra or M. rhodanatha pringleii
