Over the last days i noticed all new leaf growth on the acuminata and longifolia dried up...a closer inspection revealed those shield bugs in different maturation stages, happily sucking sap away :o ....removed most of them and encouraged them to MOVE ON....

one thing i have noticed with the wonderful acaica acuminata is it's amzing ability to regrow. even unearthed roots resprout when climate is right. i have yet to see this with any other acacia. i found this with some i planted but soon found id rather have the more whispy looking burkitii growing in that certain section along a pathway. so cut them off at ground level. while on the topic of the waonderful acacia genus, does anyone have the "white thorn acacia"? i am after a specimen.
