Guest cornucopia
You sure it's B ventricosa?I must say that B vulgaris 'Wamin' is the more common 'Buddha Belly' bamboo I've seen around here. Listings I have state that the B ventricosa doesn't get culms bigger than 5cm wide, whereas the B vulgaris 'Wamin' gets to 15 cm wide culms, like some of the other very large clumping bamboos. The ventricosa is better for bonsai and in large pots for that reason obviously.

earthalchemist
actually cornucopia, i'm not sure at all ... i wasn't even aware there was more than one "buddha belly", and i got the id from someone after a verbal description only ... sounds like it would be B Vulgaris "Wamin" from what you mention about size ...darklight: thanks for the link!happinessearthalchemist
