cuzcoensis

Pretty weird growth if it's really a seedling, I've only seen larger species (like terscheckii) grow like that from a seedling.

Okay thanks.

I also have other Cuzcoensis that have not grown or looked like this when young so wasn't sure what it was.

Are you sure it's not a cutting? Did you buy it like that?

Bought off ebay. Have just gone back and read and the auction description and actually does'nt state whether seedling or cutting so you are probably right, it's a cutting which explains the growth.

it does look a bit cuzco like but I just can't tell any more. Did you repot it? Should be reasonably easy to see if it was a cuttting or seed grown from root ball. I have a few plants that look a bit like this that I have lumped into cuzco but am hoping will in time grow there own distinctions.

It's a beaut. I'm in love with the spine colour. And I'd say it's possibly a cuzco hybrid, but we'll need to see it grown out more to get a better estimate. :)

It arrived on Friday last week just before I was going away for the weekend so quickly put into a pot and didn't take much notice of the plants root system. Gently dug it up again today and definately a cutting. I won't argue with anyone about it being cuzco or not but has some distinct small differences to my other cuzco's. Will let it grow and we will see!
