gneumatics Posted December 5, 2011 I was wondering if anybody had any tips on finding the basal gland on the phyllodes of the longfolia group of acacias? I've got myself a 10x magnifying glass and have looked and looked but cant see a thing
phyllode Posted December 12, 2011 The basal gland should be visible to the naked eye, on the outer edge of the leaf. Many species have no gland, so it may not be longifolia you are looking at.

Yes, its usually about a centimeter from where the phyllode joins the pulvinus (stalk), there is frequently a sharp bend in the shape of the phyllode at this point.
