I thought terscheckii's wr the hardest cacti? folk must just be referring to cold/wet when they say hardy ? Knuthianus / altman strain monstruose pachanoi cut exploded into roots , it had none the other day when i potted it up and started using using alchemical gold in my mix (ormus from germany - what a surprise theirs is the best) , thats the fastest cutting i ever rooted ! ... unless it was because I always put my cup of tea near it ok , all my cuttings seem to have rooted yayy , but now i cant wrk out which ones wr the fastest... probably the 2 big macrogonus frm germany Edited November 8, 2017 by ☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ

☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ Posted May 22, 2014 (edited) COOL! been hunting a flying saucer for a while, theres a krillion on ebay , just ..I want 4 for the right price lol bought some new showey pots from uk provider that seemed to get it right last time ; I guess it's worth mentioning the pots are German still lol :D same as the bigger ones in this pic were ordered c; so I can work more on my specimen collection - sexy planties might wanna breed faster in sexy black sleek "panties" and they just look nicer and neater Also the fatter "knuthie" seems to wanting to make the spines of the knuthianus i see on the usa pics on here , maybe its the change to the new media ? found a few Welsh cactaceal contacts that say there's not many orrible ones over there ... old friend in Scotland saying their cacti shops are really nice ... still wrking on finding out about Ireland , so far its looking like just England that has some asshole ones... as a redeeming quality though, I did telephone one very olde one in the midlands that have been hybridising echinopsis for krillennia and they were so delightfully polite ... I was bowled over... had to have a cup of tea about it to deal with the shock! finally ; another good cactus nursery for england, only 3 though so far... at least France is looking good lately , spesh for validussy um ... terschalidus valideckii lol and taquimbalensis/tacaquirensis if anyone else is seeking in EU, theyre so fkn pricey tho , almost matches uk prices at least they're impeccable quality and the size you expected when you open up the box still waiting on the order from the best of the england based ones tho .. 2 weeks since i bought... will be funny if the taquimbo and subdenudata i got from france the other day arrive first I almost ordered more cactus food , but at this rate... I figured I'd buy a pack from another supplier and see if they get here before the cactus order Edited June 6, 2014 by ☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ

Seedlings looking good too~! thank you very kindly for the encouragement indeed these little pots are from succseed in sweden if ur in usa , theres always anderson die (or internationally) i wouldnt hold my breath for new BEF from uk, ... apart from being the most costly; ...2nd hand seem more reliable for those - also when en masse , they dont fit a standard propogator .. and it seems a lot have faults from lazy plastic moulding .. that would be rejected by other pot companys and most plastics manufacturers... I know from 1st hand experience... at least they scrub up well, and are tough and pretty at least, thats how the hunt has gone so far since feb... found one in france - look much like these from succseed ... more expensive too Edited June 6, 2014 by ☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ
hostilis Posted May 24, 2014 I use little 2" pots for my seedlings as well. They work pretty well. Here are some adenium seedlings in a small 2" pot.
djmattz0r Posted May 24, 2014 The 2" square pots just fit so well into those large propagators that hold the cells. I recently got a hold of a bunch of 4" round plastic pots that were going to be thrown away so I threw em in my trunk. It's a big crate full so probably a few hundred easy (if anyone in the US needs some pots lemme know )

☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ Posted May 25, 2014 (edited) started pondering this validus from mutant... if validus is a terscheckii / terscheckoid anyway ... - apologies for not liking someone sayng it was a terscheckii (to EG and anyone else with a deeper and wider cactaceal knowledge than my own that read it).. and I guess I have to accept and embrace noobility... and use this to learn from, and look back on; when I'm more cactaceally experienced.. and so far I fkn adore the plant and would never part with it, but I was also hunting for a monster terscheckii anyway ... should I stop searching now for the terscheck monster?...would be the prettiest terscheck I ever saw ..... and keep searching for a validus at full throttle again? I so far labelled this thing validus ; since thats what i bought it as, and the pics of it as validus mutant cuz it had a ring to it terschalidus valideckii didn't have the same ring , but I figured I'd share the giggle.. Im wondering if I should re-label it validussy terscheckoid?... so far all it "validates" are; its ridiculous bulges saying "hey look how fkn sexy I am", and the whiter spines-than any terscheckii I ever saw b4- ...that don't behave like my other terscheckii's nor seem to have the same flexibility... but still there is quite a curve to them though and the big upside down D- shape to the areoles,.. hmm upside down d? maybe D on it's side with the round bit down and the flat bit up... very flat growing tip... I'm sure this will snake up though if my "altman strain pach"/knuthie" is anything to go by... it's throwing ribs like a mufu and I had no choice but to further de-spine it so I could handle it, just because it's so damned b-i-g!.. spines were coming off anyway in the blanket and foam packaging I used to pick it up ... and it left some in my super sponge too I made sure to de-spine the remaining most evil ones since they snap off in ya and dont like to leave your body once inside... and also I'm often tempted to move cacti by their spines if theyre big enough, like the kk242 peruv's seem to be....but this isnt like the tiny ones I'm used to .. I guess a widely-agreeably-recogniseable validus is going to be one that will take a long while to learn , and aquire .. so twin terbo thanks for the help and boost to learning speed all here at australis! - I'd be screwed without having joined here - turned all the pots on the windowsil round and enquired about another cutting bought a fulvilanus , (started the path of the fulvilanus vs deserticola issue - lol) ,different clone of macrogonus (to continue the macro learning) ,shickendantzii from ebay .. different terscheckii clone/type/cultivar/plant-type thing... added more new media to the pots to try level them all off and make them look more uniform next to each other and all this with only a quarter of one eye vision due to dumbassed auraigraines - ones that dn hurt but are pretty; so scuse the photo qual if its bad.. hard to tell with all these pretty patterns everywhere -later edit - dang these pics are awesome , i had some real strong (85% cocoa) chocolate (a whole bar) melted in a cup of drinking choc and coffee, seems to have sorted the vision out fast figured I'd try this new media for some cacti seeds ... as it fits in nicely with Zelly's advice on a 100% mineral based substrate so I even used distilled water too and I sowed 10 Trichocereus tacaquirensis ... and instead of shrink wrap; used a small sandwich filling tub I had recycled that was perfect for a 2" pot if they germ fast-ass , I'll sow more I think *checks Germinatia for space... yeah why not Some very persistant spiders keep getting their webs torched twice a day... they seem to love the werdermannianus and macrogonus frm germany the best ... I hope they move out soon or I'll have to catch them and release them into the GH ... -too much risk of spidermite infection behind this much glass Edited May 27, 2014 by ☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ

BillyThKid Posted May 25, 2014 Did a little bit of stuff today. I transplanted my Aztekium ritteri graft today into a bit more nutrient full soil, i cut out some of the lime stone i was using and replaced it with perlite though i am still using around 9% lime stone in the mix. Maybe 15% Black Kow brand manure compost, 15% black Kow top soil compost, 10% regular top soil, 30% sand and a couple other secrets. I also did it to check on the root development of the root stock. i planted this aztekium root stock about 3 months ago when it had hardly any roots. now its like this Funny, while i was transplanting it i noticed something pink in the middle of the areoles on the aztekium. SO it is about to flower yay! im so excited for it! Looks like 4 flower buds, but some of the pups have pink forming as well Transplanted this Euphorbia into a new pot and soil today. Saved it from some old mans green house who gave it to me because it was almost dead last year. dont know the exact species but its like hoodia or something. My peruvian Torch cutting i got a couple months ago is throwing a pup, The spines on this plant were trimmed back for shipping so i cant wait to see how the long ones look with this developing pup

I think I'll mainly stick to Germany and France for my plants from now on using ebay as much as possible ,,, for availability and overall baddassery I have to say Germany are fkn world class ! and just keep one in mind in Usa for world class tricho/ hybrid seeds since theyre made of gold and piss all over the others there that I found... from a very great height indeed...especially for knowledge... and the best part - they know how to be nice to their customers unlike some.. um yeah ... gave the cacti a splash of tomato food since it's their third watering bought seeds of 4 different terscheckii with location data .. for about £6 :D Edited May 28, 2014 by ☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ

djmattz0r Posted May 28, 2014 Past couple of days have been like Christmas, both of these orders were placed quite a while ago and between letting cuttings dry and shipping time I had forgotten about/given up on these. Got half my cacti I had been waiting on from Australia from a fellow SAB member, I believe the other half may be caught up in customs. I had almost given up on them after 2+ months of waiting Sexy spineless Scopulicola T. bridgesii Psycho0 - after over 2 months in transit to me a few cuttings started to rot so I cut off anything that looked really bad and sulfured the wounds and just letting everything dry the best I can get it before attempting to plant anything in soil. A few of these have roots already and this cutting pupped in transit leaving weird white pickles, unfortunately they were smashed against spines so didn't survive. I think this is a Rosei, if someone knows otherwise please correct me. I am using my best educated guess with these and checking against what I had ordered T. bridgesii Kai I also had forgotten about this package, was a nice surprise. And with that I have finally completed my SS clone collection, I now own SS01-SS04 Now to root all these....
