Philocacti Posted June 2, 2015 I had 1 year old morning glory (heavenly blue) seeds. I put 10 of them in a cup of water without nicking any of them. Within 2 days all had a tap root. I planted 6 and tossed the rest in a few cacti pots. Today I noticed that one of the tossed ones, not only germinated, but was climbing on this "Ecuadorian PachanoiXpsycho0".

franky Posted June 3, 2015 Just watching some of my grafted seedlings grow under lights, mostly Loph's in this pic. A lot are really pupping, although only a few are actually seed that came labelled caesp, the others are seeds from my own plants and I did not have a flowering caesp last season. interesting. All lophs are roughly 3 months old from sowing. Otherwise to the right are a few of the variagated Astrophytum asterias I have.

☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ Posted June 13, 2015 Ty very kindly . I blame: Good ole german square-potsmanship and scandinavian sourced granular kitty litter (DE), and silly amounts of tomorite blending in a moving air current and plenty of greenhouse effect with added shade for all but the south facing window and the inspiration here at SAB. Will be trying to recreate these parameters artificially soon as i can afford to. Might try trays in a grow tent and a fan with some hort' LEDs

Philocacti Posted June 15, 2015 My one and only Adenium obesum has produced 4 fruit. I concluded it's self-fertile and read about how to harvest the seeds. It's like stapelia, so I'll have to cover the fruits with pantyhose, so when it opens the seeds don't disperse. What's really interesting, turns out that it produces 2 kinds of flowers. The same plant will produce a male flower and a female flower. Well... I never knew there are plants like this.
upside Posted June 15, 2015 Hey Philo,, cannabis can be hermaphroditic also. Except it's not a good thing usually
Philocacti Posted June 16, 2015 Hahahahaha yeah, but from what I understand is that with Adenium, one flower will have anthers and another on the same plant will have stigmas. Maybe I misunderstood, I'll research more and I'll update you.

Visceral420 Posted June 16, 2015 Hey PhiloSounds like you pretty much got it right mate, avocado are the same. Has male and female flowers that actually open at different times in most areas. Hence why people think you need a male and a female plant. When in fact you need an A and a B plant so that the male/female flowers overlap
Dooligar Posted June 16, 2015 Took a photo of the small plants I have at my place, can't wait to get my larger tichs here! Also was gifted this lighting fixture. Which CFL globe do you guys recommend for propagating lophs and trichs?
