Stillman Posted November 9, 2011 I usually have a sticky at the cacti section at Bunnings and every now and then you spot something cool. I found T terschekii, pasacana and candicans all at the Stafford Bunnings in Brisbane, the other two Bunnings around me don't seem to have Hamilton nursery cacti. I thought this was a score as generally its just the scorps around. Does anyone have a any photos of there terschekii's from doing some reading they get massive. I am thinking about putting it in the ground and letting it go nuts.
Khala Posted November 9, 2011 I've never heard of a terschekii at bunnings, but I've picked up both pascana and candicans from there. Nice find.
cactuscarl Posted November 9, 2011 Yeah i just got a pascana from bunnings no terscheckii tho. I got mine from sab i think they grow incredibly slow or atleast mine does, putting it on the roof and burning the shit out of it didn't help tho i suppose Hope you have better luck with yours

Stillman Posted November 10, 2011 I'll take some pics in the morning, these were actually labelled and from my novice eye look on the money. I've only ever seen the particuliar brand as such at the Stafford store.

Marcel Posted November 10, 2011 Terschekii, pasacana and candicans are all pretty standard fare in Sydney Bunnings. I wish they had more varieties of Astrophytums every once in a while.

Khala Posted November 11, 2011 Stillman, why is your semindus so black? Mine is probably 7-8cm across but it is a slightly darker than trichocereus green. This spring it has formed a small bud from one of the areoles, but it never grew more...disappointing, but okay. Also, your pascana and candicans both look the same as mine so I can confirm they are correctly ID'd haha.
Stillman Posted November 11, 2011 This E. semenudus is a real deep dark green I have two others which are more "normal" green, its my biggest and healthiest but for sure.

SirLSD Posted November 12, 2011 i can second the terschekii being very slow growing for a trich. my 30cm pachanoi is now about 4m and my 15cm terschekii is now about 40cm. both been growing the same length of time. btw if anyone wants to buy some long lengths of pachanoi in perth let me know.
