Help with I.D. please

Question

Hey guys,

Got given this a few days ago ... and well I haven't warmed up to it yet, not sure I will but I am new to this hobby and am willing to give it some time :)

I have currently cut off and taped a trouser leg around the base, trying to get it to root will see what happens.

thanks for any help or advice,

cheers

I have one the same but I am unsure if it is peruvianus or another cereus monstrose. There is definitely a different , melted wax, form of CPM and this one has a more angular growth pattern and appears more robust. I did look it up at one stage but to no avail.

good luck, I want to know too.

man I got a cactus with anus in the name  ... who names these any way :)

Thanks guys and thanks Bongchitis, so is that a definite ID (I googled and it looks like a spot on match) and are there any uses other than ornamental, ie is it shamanic (for the lack of better vocabulary).

cheers.

It´s called after a well known Cactus grower nammed Heinrich Hildemann from Berlin. Not sure if it had something to do with his anus though.
