Alice Posted September 6, 2011 It's sold out but the ad is only a few weeks old, chances are he still has seed. Who ever sells the last of their stash? I'd enquire myself if it were cuttings but I'm too impatient to grow cacti from seed.

TheExplorer Posted September 6, 2011 I've been looking for a while and haven't really seen many for sale. And even when I have seen them they have been pretty expensive. But I'll let everyone know if I find a good source.
Moses Posted September 7, 2011 you would have no prob bringing seed into aus absolutely correct mine came in fine, it's just that not many seeds are offered for sale mainly plants that i've noticed and nothing from Australia.
Bush Turkey Posted September 7, 2011 just because no one is selling it in aus doesnt mean its not in aus. im pretty sure there is some in aus

Bush Turkey Posted September 7, 2011 Seeds on ebay now!.... just bought 30. There were at least 70 left at the time of purchase. i cant find any cereus seeds on e bay
kadakuda Posted September 7, 2011 is the spiral gene genetic? im not sure, but i would seriously doubt it..if it was it would be a dime a dozen plant by now. that said normal cereus will do this. I saw a spiral Cereus about 60km from the nearest village in Myanmar this trip. just chilling amongst its normal looking brethren. especially in cereus, it can just happen. check those huge stands of wild cereus if you really dont have it in aus. (Gymnocalycium vatteri var spiralis.-.-.02) Thats an amazing looking plant. Made me think of a Peacock, but also a Marshmallow for some reason
Evil Genius Posted September 7, 2011 I really doubt that the spiraling would be passed down if you grow them from seed. Would love to hear first hand experiences though. Im pretty sure one of the reasons this cultivar is more expensive as others is because it needs to be propagated by cuttings. bye Eg
