looks like a pacycereus pecten-aboriginum, they are cool plants but watch out for the spikes, i got one in my knuckle and it went completely blue and numb!

Thanks bogfrog! I'll remember that! Got a nice 'eileen' spike stuck in my knuckle at the moment lol. Ahh the joys of cactus collecting.. Thinking the purple is probably just because of how bunnings look after or rather dont look after their plants. Hope it is a pachycereus pecten aboriginum, was after one of those. Thanks again! :)

I have just planted some or Pachycereus pecten-aboriginum, supposedly it is one of the plants combined with the San Pedro cactus by the Tarahumare of Mexico. Those things get huge.

It does not look like the one pictured here though !pecten-aboriginum

Awesome link! Thanks Tipz! Sure looks like it exept for the purple bits, but that's probably just from the growing conditions. I read somewhere that it is used as a peyote substitute, ~I said nothing, nothing at all~. Certainly worth further investigation ;) Thanks again Tipz! :)

I´d say its Polaskia Chichique but i´ll need to have a closer look at it later. Spines are actually a little bit too long for that but the reddish ribs are normally a good indicator. How´s the new spine growth look like? Chichique can have reddish new spines but theres also variants that look diffrent. bye Eg

No worries EG, meant more from a sociological, cultural point of view than potency etc but no matter. Not lookin to piss anyone off. The new spines have a reddish/purple colour, more on the dark purple side. I'm leaning towards Polaskia Chichique from the pics I can find. Thanks for the help! :)
