I agree with you Sheather, but for the fact that the story is fake. This, though, is a common thing in our society. Whenever I see something in an ad or tv show where there is a joke about a woman being violent to a man I picture it the other way around and wonder if they would get away with it. I remember an ad (can't remember what it was for) where a guy was working on his car and got grease everywhere or something, and I think the punchline had something to do with the woman threatening to hit him with a spanner. Reverse the roles and have a woman making a mess while she's cooking dinner and the man threatening to hit her with a saucepan, and it's not so funny. A film clip with a 12 year old male rapper seducing the teacher in a classroom. Teacher looking all sexy and shit. No problem with that. Reverse the role's and a 12 year old nicky webster seducing a male teacher and there would be outrage. There's definitely double standards.

Not an implication, it's an statement and observation, that this article is funny, as the people who have laughed at it are a testament too. In no way am I making light of rape in general.

Let us assume for the sake of your sensibilities that the story is real. Well then, let's not forget the man who was raped was trying to rob this woman. He brought it on himself. While it does not justify what happened to him, it does lend humour to the story, as the outcome is so extraordinary, that it's absurd and hence amusing.

What's the specifics of the question ? Whether it was true on the 12th July 2011, whether it was true on the 17th July 2009, or whether it was true in 2007 when I first saw this article appear? It's more likely to be clever viral advertising for Viagra. No, read it again. There is an emphasis in my sentence which changes the meaning of it to suggest that I do actually find the article humourous. In the English language, emphases are placed on particular words to make the meaning on a what is being said more clear.
