---***CACTUS FORUM RULES***---

Recommended Posts

Ok, i should have done this some time ago as it would have saved many a deleted posts or threads and me sending polite PMs. It isnt hard really, the basic rule that flows throughout the WHOLE forum DONT INCRIMINATE YOURSELF OR OTHERS, pretty easy to follow and self explanatory. There is however a lil extra that was added to the cactus forum a few years ago and has been in a pinned thread called "Important legal info ; PLEASE READ". It seems most ppl forgo reading this lil tidbit of important information or if they have read it in the past seem to forget it quiet easily so i will put it here and pin it so it is a lil easier for people to find and hopefully people will read it and hold fast to the content! In light of recent legal propasals we should all be well aware of, i think it is time everyone took these rules seriously please, its a very easy to follow and there are NO exceptions!

Also as the drug law in QLD is worded such that plants that contain illegal substances are therefore illegal and as Torsten will attest this has been enforced I will not allow discussion on potency of any mescaline bearing cacti, nor on methods to increase potency, or for that matter any questions on injestion of such substances. There is one exception and that is the linking to or discussion of scientific literature on the subject. We are treading a fine line and as all this information exists on this website and others where people can easily search for it I see discussion of it as a mute point.

Discussion on Lophs and trichs is fine, so is cultivation, photos, collections etc I just wont take any discussion on potency, preparation or injestion of any mescaline bearing cacti.

Thank you

PD.

Thanks for making that unmistakably clear once again, PD! I know that many boards dont care about that issue but we regard this as a crucial point. Everytime i see a newbie post like "I just ingested a cactus rectally and now im seeing yellow butterflies and feel like making love to my sister" makes me wanna go postal and punch the life out of my keyboard. Give PD a break and choose your words wisely. Its not that hard to say what you want to say without incriminating yourself or using some stupid lepric gnome. Cmon, not even children believe in gnomes. Not to mention District Attorneys. :) bye Eg

It seems I indirectly broke the rule about discussing ingestion, in my thread today about Ped shelf life, which mysteriously disappeared.

Wanted to apologize, to those concerned. Thought it would be ok, I was wrong.

Peace.

Provided people were selective in their choice of words, would it be cool to have a thread on how to properly stress cacti? if it were confined exclusively to stressing techniques there would be nothing illegal about it.

what say you mods?

no answer. pc pachanoi, pretty non psychoactives and astrophytum might be interesting to some, but it's just gardening, not ethnobotany.

Definitely a good rule! Obviously this applies to poppies as well, sorry to digress. To the mods: I sell poppy seeds and people ask me if the yield is high.

I tell them that the amount of flowers vary and ask them to read the forum rules. Is there another way to respond to this? I sell these purely for ornamentals,

obviously, but do not wish any compromises when it comes to my understanding of the law. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

imo you cheapen your argument by likening laws you disagree with to nazism.

This is an area - censorship - where America has it over us , with their First Amendment to their constitution ; not that I want to read the garbage that drives EG nuts . I do , however , believe that Australia is more than 112 years overdue for a similar amendment , enabling us to have freedom of speech . Of course , I do believe that some types of censorship is necessary , eg, child porn , etc .

While having a little look through the pharmacology and chemistry forum

A place wich I never go to

....Knowing that discussion of potency is not allowed...

Why is this allowed???

Will look into it. Queued for time being.

Merely left there as something from before my time. Have been keen to see anything important in that thread posted to another forum (if needed) and the topic removed for quite awhile. Sound reasonable to everyone?

The thread was moved there from here, probly because that forum has a little more leeway & is hidden.

I think its a decent thread with pertinent information. I think most people can make the distinction between presenting statistical data & "potency discussion". I think it shoud stay but is one that should be watched a little closer & the rules should be adhered to. Although most people are quite careful not to incriminate anyone in that thread.

Hi Guys, heres the thing. Our cactus rules have one exception: Links to scientific papers with nothing but analyses. Nothing about ingestion, nothing about techs, just pure figures. Personally, i wouldnt allow that either because it gives authorities a starting point for prohibition but i also understand why Torsten doesnt want to keep it out completely. People should at least have the option to interpret the numbers themselves. But like i said, im not a great fan of it because i know how things go and what some people can do with information. If our moderation approach about cacti wouldnt have been so strict, it would have bitten SAB in the ass during the aftermath of the TV Special. This place is one of the first results that google comes up with when googling San Pedro. Dont you forget that; i dont think it would be so good when the first thing that comes up is some recipe about a good cactus boil.

Alchemica, the thread is completely within the rules so feel free to ununapprove it. :) Jut make sure people dont use it for discussion.

Tom, we have the same freedom of speech on SAB too and we value it greatly. The rules SAB has are mostly for self-protection, not because of the laws. Im pretty sure the legal situation is very similar on the nook. If you self-incriminate yourself, you can get in Trouble. Only topic we´re pretty careful about are cacti because they are amazing plants and because we have the responsibility not to mess it up for the countless cactus growers worldwide.

Of course not. Btw, just had to take out the self-incriminating info out of your profile (the hobbies) and you really need to take our rules a little bit more seriously in the future.
