It sounds like you're going to have your hands full there Amz.

They are going to be partners in crime for a few years. They're both intelligent breeds with lots of energy.

I'm just looking at my mutt tear arsing around the backyard at 100mph, I thought they were supposed to calm down when they got to two years old.

Nice dogs, can't wait to get a bitch for Cruze. He'll have to wait untill we get a bigger home. I'll throw some more pics up, he's grown quite a lot now and he is just over 2 years old. Hasn't been to any shows in ages. If i had more time he would be titled by now.

My lil' mate, first day here:

post-12-0-15857900-1365973836_thumb.jpg

.. and now:

post-12-0-68825800-1365973987_thumb.jpg

He's 98% slobber by weight, the other 2% is happy. I wish I'd known how much fun* mastiffs were before I got him, I would have gotten one ages ago

*fun, a fair bit of work, but worth it, and did I say fun?

^ I love those front on running/action shots. Its good in slow mo' video too hey...with the jowlers flapping about, lol.

I use to want a Great Dane or a Bull Arab because of the size (They are big droolers too hey). Bull Mastiffs are a huge dog, imagine the food bill !?.... I loved BIG dogs, and ended up with a Jack Russel :scratchhead: .

The food bill is nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be, but I buy a really good brand of dog food for him and he eats way less of it to maintain excellent condition that he would for a cheaper brand. I also vary his diet a bit- carefully tho, he's still growing

Apparently the big dogs are considered OK for apartments in EU. If you socialise and exercise them properly at least once a day ( twice is better ) they are supremely happy to sleep on a couch the rest of the time. A tired dog is a happy obedient dog, and nothing says couch potato like a tired mastiff

Hey dog-lovers

Awesome looking pack of buddy-pals :)

I was just wondering how long it takes before a dog's naughty habits become cemented for life?

My best friend and her partner have a 2.5 yr old staf x and she is a complete ratbag, they have never trained her in any way shape or form as this is their first pet but i'm wondering if she will be a naughty (jump up lick-ya-face, steal-food-off-ya-plate, run-away-frm-home, chase-cats, manipulate-her people to the point of maddness) sorta dog forever?

She is usually pretty good with me as i grew up around a tribe of rotweilers and i make it very clear to her that she cannot invade my space all the time, but she is a little terror to my friends and has them wrapped around her mischevious paw.

I am well and truly sick of it.

Ok then  I think you might need to use better bait if you want me to bite.

This is Piper she started out as a cute puppy that became the nutbag destructive demon and now is mellowing into a nutbag :)

I was just wondering how long it takes before a dog's naughty habits become cemented for life?

When I took the megafauna above to puppy school and dog classes, the trainer was always adamant you could start them at any age

We had dogs of all ages and discipline levels there and it was heaps of fun. Most of it is owner training

Hey at least if it gets training it will only improve! A bit like learning guitar when you're 50, instead of complaining you never learned to play when you're 80

I reckon if the dog understands your discipline and isn't responding to the owners then it's just taking the piss out of the owners

Non dog owners can get pissed off after they stand in one too many barkers eggs that have been left laying around the footpath, but that's the owners fault and not the dog. Not everyone has to own a dog, but i love my dogs heaps, they are my best friends... Dogz Rule, lol.

Positive doggie comments only here please. :)

@ trichpatch... Is that Lentil the sausage dog?
