Freaky Chicken
The seed pods and the gall do appear to be from an Acacia sp. or similar mimosaceae plant.Would need a picture of the leaves arrangement on the branches, flowers or bark to help with ID. Chiral
When did these seed pods fall...? it would help in narrowing down the species as some Acacia flower at different times of the years to others...Madenii seed pods are curly in the manner shown in the picture...is that leaf from the tree from which they fell...?...if so could well be Madenii...they usually flower in spring as opposed to say Obtusi which has a later flowering time from Dec thru Feb...that's why knowing when the flowering and seed pods were collected could help.H
G*P
The seeds and galls are still all mostly attached to the tree. Yes, the leaf is from the same tree.Il go and get some more photos..
