FancyPants Posted June 24, 2011 (edited) The first one was done in gold metallic pen, but the scanner evidently didn't pick it up... The second one I call Mind Spew, though it kinda reminds me of a candy cane heart. Edited June 24, 2011 by FancyPants
Slybacon Posted June 24, 2011 Care to share how the first one was made so symmetrical. I love to sketch, but i can never get such precision...
FancyPants Posted June 24, 2011 I usually just start with a few dots eye-ball placed, then add a few more, then a basic pattern will emerge in my head so I'll join the dots either round or straight, add more dots as the pattern in my head works around what's been done already. Then some circles or semi-circles to break up the angularity where needed. I sometimes find it hard to know when to stop and leave it alone, so I'm trying to be more patient in thinking where I want to go next. The above two are the only ones I've bothered lightly doing in pencil first and then rubbing off the pencil, going over in pen - hence you can see the ink smudge-marks when I've been too impatient to wait to dry. For the first one I started off the outer circle-proper with an inverted plastic cup since they wouldn't let me have my compass in the rehab... I actually find I fuckup more when I use a ruler anyway, or maybe I just got a good sense of distance-accuracy from my building-site-superintendant dad. Besides I like the slight imperfections, to me it feels easier on the eyes somehow Took plenty of experimenting and doodling and no doubt apeing others' stuff to find what might look good and what doesn't. If you fuckup one side, just do the same to the other and balance it out to make it look like it was supposed to be that way ;) Get thee to smiggle, buy some coloured pens and good quality black art diary paper and doodle yourself silly

fairy Posted July 18, 2011 This is the first drawing I ever did whilst stoned. I love to draw but I do it a lot less than I'd like. I always wanted to make art whilst high, but usually forgot. This time I just suddenly needed to, grabbed my diary and scribbled to my hearts content.
bogfrog Posted August 17, 2011 this is a new one, using a technique i remembered from primary school - filling in the page with bright pastel colours then covering with black pastel and scraping through the dark pastel with a pen. i like to call it anti-drawing
ballzac Posted August 17, 2011 Ah, yes. I mentioned that technique in my thread about my sketches, though I'd never seen it done the way you've done it. Very beautiful, your works have a great balance of 'organic' flow and symmetry. Love it.
Seldom Posted August 17, 2011 that's crazy detail man, nice work want to get back into drawing
