Naycha Posted April 5, 2009 In between all the storms up here on the mid north coast the sun has been poking through, and where the ground is not too wet the cubes are popping up all over the place. In the foreground of these pics you can just spot them hiding in the grass, I've only ever found them in open padocks so far. A little closer
Chiral Posted April 5, 2009 beautiful shots man...I think I know exactly where those shots are...on the right days those paddocks can be loaded. gotta love nature.
Birdman Posted April 6, 2009 L&L & Birdman, still warm for subs, but as husk said, are the saffron milk caps popping? (the ugly orange edibles) Hey Unders! Yes bag loads, know so coz i had a half hour coversation in the middle of now where in a pine forest with a 70 year old russien couple..sounds weird but it was the nicest thing. Met another bloke and his mum from slovenia or something collecting the same.Big ones to but they tended to be older and more rotten so it seems they have prob fruited twice so far. Grab your green coles bags and get up there its at its prettiest in Autumn.
gerbil Posted April 6, 2009 (edited) Nice photos everyone and good find GP. re: weather stats, just remember microclimate is way different, even with a specific registered low, there will be colder areas in the same area as the reading, never trust the white weatherpeople sub season down south generally starts in march IME and finishes up around october from memory. The lazy person season is later on, but the tail ends are the most exciting. Edited April 6, 2009 by gerbil
G*P Posted April 6, 2009 (edited) I feel a little special to have possibly found the first of the season. Though, Melbourne also had a find on the same day which is very cool. And lets keep reminding people to take their scissors with them.. ! I nearly thought they wouldn't call me back again, after pinching them to death last year Oh, I went to check my Amanita patch today, and just when I thought it was still too dry.. I found this lone beauty http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/2747/picture137q.jpg Edited April 7, 2009 by G*P
