Hey Nightbreed, whats that cross with Dan x Rosei 1? Red flowers sounds always great! Do you have a pic of that "Dan" plant? What species is it?

and whats the go with doing them with natural light and no heat mat at this time of year. If i wait till say august will i be succesful outdoors without a heat mat?

I give mine 16 hrs light, but i've run them at 24 hrs before and they dont seem to need any dark hours.
i reckon indoors without heat mat would be okay if you house is reasonable temp, filtered light thru a window is all theyd need for the first few months.

spring outdoors is perfect time to start if you dont wanna set up lights etc.

Today I planted some Espostoa Nana and Melocactus Peruvianus seeds I had forgotten about.

On April 20th, I put down three of Zelly's crosses: Juuls x Bertha, Juuls x Lumberjack, and Pachanoi x (SS02 x SS01). They are my first named Trich's and I'm stoked to start expanding my collection. So far there's been about 85-90% germination and a few still popping up.

thanks for the replies guys, re. light hours.

gave mine 2 months of constantly on (mid feb to mid april-ish) while i couldnt turn them on and off every day anymore

.. took em a few weeks to lose the purple though once summer started kicking in..

now they have no light on 'em

there is enough atm in the sunroom without having to suppliment :) till next sowing round in winter.

They look pretty good for the vegging out they did and um... : / unpredictable neglect; thankfully.

Nice to see at least some authentic Scops. :) Your´s and the ones in the Scop project thread are the only Scop crosses that I know of. So yeah, great to see all those super healthy seedlings.
