faustus Posted January 13, 2009 (edited) i won the pair of tickets to EGA 2009 (www.entheo.net) from the EGA 2008 raffle. one ticket will go to a friend but i'll be giving away the other ticket to the best haiku poem, which can be about anything. ronny has also kindly donated a second ticket to EGA 2009. this will go to the best haiku poem with an ethnobotany/entheogen theme. so all up, there's 2 tickets up for grabs. if you're unfamiliar with haiku, it's a type of japanese poem with a very simple structure: 5 syllables 7 syllables 5 syllables for example, here's a nerdy neuroscience one i wrote about wanting my dopamine neurons blazing in the absence of psychosis (hey, my mum reckons i'm cool!) how i long to be hyperdopaminergic sans insanity all poems must be original and the winning entries will be judged by myself. you can submit as many as you like, and i'll keep the competition running until noon, sunday 12 july 2009. not such a bad way to score yourself a ticket to the conference! and if you don't win i recommend still forking out the cash to come, i thoroughly enjoyed EGA 2008 and this year's outdoor setting looks divine! faustus Posted January 14, 2009 (edited) parden me, i forgot to mention: flatter me all you like, but i only accept cash bribes and rhyming doesn't matter. in fact, the better ones probably won't rhyme cos it constrains your expression so, where are all the troubled poets at??? faustus Posted January 15, 2009 some great poems... some with the wrong number of syllables... some horrendous ones too! but keep up the poems for the sake of ronny's kind offer of a second EGA ticket. how about one ticket goes to the best poem about anything, and the other ticket goes to the best poem with an ethnobotany/psychedelic theme?
