30/11-3/12/07 Entheogenesis Australis - SOLD OUT

Recommended Posts

Just got some fantastic news today

There is some speakers we have been waiting for the final green light from before we posted there details on our web page, and today David Caldicott gave us just such news.

We have been working very hard over the years at EGA to get an actual medical Dr to give a talk, and it is finally going to happen.

See

on David Caldicott

As far as we are concerned this is a big steep in the right direction

Discussions Panels

Psychedelic Activism and Dissent:

It's origins and its FutureAll politics is an extension of consciousness, and psychedelic activism has a rich history of raging against the machine. From the anti-war movements of the 60s attempting to levitate the Pentagon, to drug busts in the bush and media scares in the 00s, the politics of consciousness should be at the heart of modern activism. So why isn't it?

Ethnobotanics – lets get physical:

A General Q and A on entheogenic plant identification, propagation, extraction and proliferation. Ask the expert penal the questions that have been bugging you about anything to do with entheogenic plant.

Ayahuasca: A Holy Grail for our species?

In the 60s LSD opened the mind; in the 80s ecstasy opened the heart: now in the 00s, is ayahuasca revealing the spirit for a new generation of seekers? With ayahuasca use exploding in the West, does this jungle sacrament offer a chance for a genuine archaic revival? And is the sacred vine being commodified by Western use as it spreads across the planet?

The rise of the Ultra-culture:Doof, Entheo & Tribal communities in the 00's:

Forget the counterculture: the Ultraculture is the hybrid offspring of all that has gone before: Part hippie, part activist, part spiritual warrior. As this new global tribe coalesces, what have we learned from past communities' experience? How do we weave myth, magick, science and technology to be a successful tribe in the present?

Hey mu

What do you mean booked out?

That you are coming for Friday and then back Saturday and Monday?

Friday night has always traditionally been the more culturally based talks, then Saturday the more plant related talks, Sunday will now be mainly panel and workshop braced with some talks. And Sunday night Monday morning we have an after party and let our pants down a little.

We are also trying to have a plant trading area and time and a Saturday night banquet, loads of art and a cinema and a market area. Still working on many details of these areas at the moment. As well as some other performances, EG;

Launch: Journeybook – Travels on the frontiers of consciousness

Undergrowth.org launches it's latest book collection, an anthology of

psychedelic writing from Australian and international writers and

artists. Featuring stories by Daniel Pinchbeck, Dennis McKenna, Erik

Davis, Rak Razam, Tim Parish, Darpan, Des Tramacchi, Julian Palmer,

Krusty, and more; with art by Gerhard Hillman, Oli Dunlop, Iswoz and

others.

Dennis will be speaking on Saturday and on Sunday

Hope this info helps some

Yes, we will be recording them, but as last years lectures have not even surfiest yet sadly. God only knows how long it will take for this years.

Being there in person has so much more to offer than being a passive spectator some time in the disconnected future.

Hey guys

Just looking to source one or maybe 2 volunteers to help out with the Plant and herb trading space I hope to get organized at EGA this year.

Basically you help out with the space any your ticket would be $30 instead of $130. So if you love plants and maybe could not get the $ together to come to EGA this might be your ticket in. It is also a fun an interesting way to meet other plant heads and the be involved in the conference.

Organizing the plant and herb trading space

*Help work out the best time and location for this trading space at the event space.

* Field any equerry’s from people that wish to be involved

* Help set up and run the space at the conference.

* Have basic botanical knowledge and preferably some experience in the field

If you are interested Please PM me, or ask some questions here.

and you do not have to be from Vic to take this on, just have a phone we can chat on before hand.

List of Discussions Panels

Discussion panels will be facilitated by Rak Razam and Kath Williamson and will consist of four to five panel members who will address a particular theme. The audience will be invited to ask the panel members questions and otherwise debate and participate actively.

Ethnobotanics – lets get physical:

A General Q and A on entheogenic plant identification, propagation, extraction and proliferation. Ask the expert panel the questions that have been bugging you about anything to do with entheogenic plants.

As this new global tribe coalesces, what have we learned from past communities' experience? How do we weave myth, magick, science and technology to be a successful tribe in the present?

Doof Culture - Pounding open the third eye

The role of the trance dance has never been more vital to connect us to the earth, but where is it going? Mass commercialisation in the mainstream is balanced by an eco-activist bush doof movement in the underground. Doof isn't dead. but what is it becoming?

Phe Gitsham - Shamanic lucid dreaming and plant spirits in medicine realms

Most people camp at EGA like any other outdoor gathering such as this. However this year there are some very limited cabin beds available to hire for people on our mailing list.

EGA Accommodation:

Once again, we will have a limited amount of beds in cabins available at EGA. Beds in a large dormitory style room will be $60 each, which covers you from Friday to Monday. If you wish to stay on Monday night as well, there will be an additional $10 fee. We also have one room with 2 beds available with a private toilet for $200 for the entire length of the conference (Friday through Tuesday).

Accommodation will be allocated on a first in first served basis. All

wishing to reserve accommodation should email Becky on

[email protected] with their name, how many beds they require and their ticket numbers for each bed (EG EN001) or a paypal Receipt ID. No beds will be reserved unless you have already purchased a ticket.

Beds will need to be paid for in cash upon arrival at the conference.

You will have to bring all your own personal bedding along as we are just providing the space and mattress.

Flyer info

The Flyers for EGA are being printed this week. So help us get them out all over the place. As many of you guys live all around Australia and are more likely to know the appropriate local places we should distribute the flyers to, we are asking for your help in this; eg hippy shops, herb shops, music shops, co-ops, nursery’s or even friends then please email us your postal address and how many flyers you would like to receive and help us get them out there.

You can also email out the flyer to friends;

Donate to the EGA Raffle

Every year we run a Mad plant head raffle to help support the event as the cost of running EGA has always been beyond what we can raise through ticket sales alone. So this is a fun way of supporting the conference and letting others in our community know about what you do best. See our webpage in the following weeks as the raffle unfolds.

If you would like to contribute to this amazing host of prizes go to the following link for more info;

http://www.entheo.net/EGA07raffle_FAQ.doc

I cannot underestimate the importance of the EGA raffle in making this event possible, so please support it by buying tickets and donating.

Upcoming Melbourne Plant Meet

It has been some time since a Melbourne meet so I thought I would get something rolling. Please come meet up for a day of friendly discussion about plants, life and Psychoactive compounds.
