Ace Posted May 17, 2007 Wow Shroomy, they are some fantastic photos! Love the subs in that first pic - just stunning and some of the most perfect caps I've seen yet! Was there much fungal activity in your area, or was this about it? I think its forecasted for rain in these parts for the next day or two, so here's hoping I'm able to head out and sus the ACT

XipeTotec Posted May 21, 2007 Are you sure that first one is a sub? Was there any bluing shroomy? yeah, if u look close u may see some bluing (maybe not well highlighted... but u can imagine) in the stems apoth.... also, under the cap of the higher shroom... at first glance, it looks like it is casting a shadow onto shroom underneath... but it is actually purple spores which have dropped onto cap below. Argyreia Posted April 24, 2011 Fantastic finds Xipe. Apologies if this comes across as hijacking your thread, the name just seemed appropriate to upload the images. I came across these guys in my strawberry patch today, I'm tossing up between Laccareia amethystina and Clitocybe nuda, however I should be able to tell when the spore print is done. The scent of it is really remarkable, there's a strong orangey-citrus smell to it.
synchromesh Posted April 24, 2011 Nice... It's not everyday that you see purple mushrooms.
