Are you sure about that second id mesc? I thought C. peruvianu (I assume you made a typo?) had much shorter spines and more deeply ridged ribs? Perhaps there could just be plenty of variety from specimen to specimen?

BTW, thats a beauty in the top pics!

I found a couple more in my neighbourhood yesterday arvo. I'll take some more pics today.

re the pahcereus - google reckons it "contains unspecified alkaloids" ?? can anyone specify?

yeh pachycereus/stenocereus marginatus, dont think the second one is a cereus, looks closer to a tricho. terscheckii kind of thing

I agree that the fatty is not Cereus. I have something similar but with shorter spines.
