Another cactus ID thread

Question

Hi Everyone,

Been lurking for awhile but have decided to come out of the shadows and see if anyone can help with an ID. Thank you all for providing so much valuable information, have learnt a great deal over the last month or 2. Hopefully I will be able to reciprocate in the future.

I visited a clients home this morning to help with a bit of a problem they were having and to my surprise right outside their front door was a mammoth 10+ foot cactus which they planted 14 years ago.

After talking about it for a bit they asked if I would like some which I obviously did, well they produced this 7 foot arm which was cut off a couple of weeks ago.

They have no idea what it is and neither do I, so was wondering if any of you experts out there in cactus land could help with an ID?

If anyone would like a chunk just send us a PM, I'm sure there are a few feet to spare.

No expert but I agree that it is a Cereus. I have a C.Peruvianus that is identical....the first actual cactus that I obtained when I didn't know the difference between Trichocereus and Cereus.

How many noobs have thought they won the lotto when they see there first 20ft cereus? I certainly am one.
