Not as well known as you might think.

It looks to be Turbinicarpus alonsoi. I'm actually suprised I guessed this one right (I think) without even looking at my books. I did though look to confirm by a google image search. It can grow fairly variable, but I think I got the ID right. It appears to be one of few Turbinicarpus with such dark colored flowers.

The "no lable; sunburn" plant is Strombocactus disciformis, one of those reputed peyotes that really isn't a peyote. Nice score.

Oh, and that isn't sunburn, looks more like natural "corking." It's harmless pretty much, but keep this plant on the extreme dry side as it will rot easily.

Hi Michael,

a lot of my plants had "corking" this winter. I almost lost this strombocactus over the winter and i was happy to see the flower. Thanks a lot for helping with the label. bye EG
