Came across this beautiful epiphytic cactus today & had a couple of questions, I'm pretty sure it a Selenicereus of some kind, can anyone tell me what kind, or how to key out this species? It is getting flower buds so this may help with a positive ID when they open, this raises my next question, do all Selenicereus spp flower at night like grandiflorus or some flower during the day? Last question, is Selenicereus a good stock for grafting? Its growing in the branches of a big jacaranda. You can see the flower buds in these photos. Closer photos of the stem. Any feedback would be appreciated Cherrs jox.

Inspired by Master B's recent post in "what did you do": How do you all manage your grafting stock? Most posts take it for granted that grafters have plenty on hand but I haven't seen a thread focused on growing stocks, aside from the hydroponic experiments. I'll start - My pereskiopsis have gained probably 30cm since a few months ago. They are 4-5 plants to a 4in square pot with a mix of sand, perlite, and potting soil that's quite a lot richer than what I use for trichos but not pure potting soil. They get about 6 hours of direct sunlight a day and I keep them watered most of the time. I've observed that similar plants I put in 6-pack pots (much smaller space) are growing at a pretty pathetic rate, by comparison.

Got some Selenicereus leaf cuts and a nice big healthy blue length of another of the Cereus sp the other day. From the south coast of Sydney (near Nowra) Anyone have any tips on roothing the Selenicereus or "queen of the night" ?? It's the real deal as far as I can tell from the pics of the flower my mates Grandma had and research online. She said it flowers once a year for her.
