Hello, I am looking for ways to source (or if this is illegal) than collect spores and create spore syringes at home. I have grown non-psychpactives before so have some small experience (though that was lions mane, and quite a simple European strain to grow, came in pre-made spore syringes).

Hey, this is my first post so please excuse me if its a mess I planted acacia seeds about a month ago, 8 obtusifolia and 4 floribunda, 2 of each of these popped up in days, not problem. Since then in the last 3 weeks i have planted an additional 15 or so floribunda. So far I've only had 2 obtusifolia germinate and are doing great. And 2 floribunda which also popped up fast after planting. The remainder seem to be laying dormant. Is it common to have this much gap between germinating acacias? Could it be the difference between planting at the beginning of summer and towards the end?

More the peoples personal suggestions here. Unlike fungi that has loads of growing books for all types, cacti seem a bit lacking with initial searching, though only brief. Edit: There are books, though, l perfer what people here suggest, to cut down the number of books that can just be skipped. Cheers!

Hello I just joined the forum, ive been lurking here for some time. This seems to be a lovely community I grow some spirit plants myself (Caapi, Psychotria, Brugsmansia, Iboga), although none of them are very old except the Brugsmansias. I want to add Anadenanthera to that list but am not very confident with my growing skills as of yet. I have ordered a number of seeds and was wondering if anyone with experience growing this species has any advice for me. Thanks in advance

Hi, I just went and bought a psychotria alba plant, because my viridis isnt doing too well. actually to be honest its been slowly dying since i got it. I dont know whats wrong, it took a turn for the worst when the cold set in, but otherwise it should have been awsome, leaves were all wrinkly and of the few healthy leaves i got off it they rotted away before doing anything, the leaves were too small though. Anyway, i feel as though i used a bad soil when i potted it after it started to look bad after spending a few months or so in the original container. Right now its a shrivelled stalk but its budding new leaves, if i play my cards right, it may well come back to me. what are the ideal soil conditions for viridis and what should i do, do i take it back inside in a smaller pot? add some seasol or something? How do i make it come back to life so to speak? in its pot i used a standard premium potting mix with a bit of the garden soil (clayi-ish but very very nutrient rich, is ex cow paddock soil), should i dig it out and change the soil? Now, about alba, i want to grow it in a pot outside, what are the ideal conditions and what kind of soil should it have? i want it to stay in that pot and grow big and strong enough that i can make heaps of clones from the leaves.
