hi im looking to start myself 2 gardens, but I have very little money. in my sacred garden I will be including medicinal and legal highs, and as you could guess the other one is the mix one that's just all-sorts. SO PLEASE inbox me about seeds and so on. Where in the days of the death of legal highs please help me get on to it before its too late... " Simon’s Legal High Guide There is a mobile optimized version of this page, view AMP Version. UPDATE: All legal highs in the UK are banned. All brick & mortar head shops selling legal highs and research chemicals have been closed. This applies to online orders as well. Most legal high stores don’t deliver to the UK anymore (and those that still do are doing it illegally). More info here: The Psychoactive Substances Bill [HL] 2015-16 "

Budding ethnobotonist here. Besides a few Cacti and some Acacia Accuminatas, I don't have much. Will obviously include Caapi eventually. Assuming one lives in a non-tropical part of Australia, What should the ideal ethno -botanic garden include? With or without a greenhouse? Keen to hear the collective wisdom!

I have unbelievable amounts of fungal gnat larvae in my garden soil. Have had for years. But it's now getting in the way of me establishing outdoor Stropharia beds in my yard and I'm over it. Anyone have experience with predatory mites for knocking fungus gnat larvae on the head- specifically in garden soil ( not potted plant/ greenhouse ) environments? http://www.bioworksonline.com.au/index.php Other possibilities for dealing with the ongoing infestation have been rejected, but have included letting the neighbours chooks in the yard for two or three gnat breeding cycles, dernching the whole place in neem on a regular basis, and totally razing the surrounding vegetation so that the soil is more exposed and doesn't provide habitat Even more relevant would be tips and hacks from NNSW and surrounds

Hey all, thought it would be good to have a general insect identification thread where we can all seek ID's for the creepy crawlies we find in our ethnobotanical gardens. Hopefully over time this thread could become a reference point so we can all get more familiar with garden insects. Sort your friends from your foes here. A couple of examples... Just found out the identity of this little dude today, many thanks to Tripsis Friend: Brown lacewing - Hemerobiidae. "Hemerobiids, like chrysopids, are predatory, especially on aphids, both as larvae and adults" So I'm quite happy to see them in the greenhouse Foe: Prominent damaged caused by (i'm pretty sure anyway) Asian Citris psyllids on a peach tree.. No sign of the offender, I got told its really really small. Sooo yeh! Feel free to bring your bug ID requests here and hopefully over time we will build up a pretty comprehensive set of garden insect IDs

A friend of mine was down in Albany recently & mentioned visiting the "Cactus Factory Garden Centre". They only gave me a limited description & I know very little about the garden myself; but thought it would be a good place to check out for anyone passing through or living in the area. If you have visited the center already or go & have a look, plz share you're experience, It would be great to hear a little more of what it's like.
