  1. I took a drive to vic a few months ago and bought a heap of acacia plants from Communicacian. phlebophilia obtusafolia and some odd one offs etc acuminata narrow phyllode acuminata narrow phyllode some mixed stuff, i buy the florabunda from the b shop for 2.50 ea, they make great hedges, I've already got quite a few in the ground, some have flowered this year obtusafolia I encouraged Communication to invest the money i paid for the plants into more hot houses and raising more acacia plants as the guy has a gift for this, seriously he is a great grower of acacia I have ordered 100 courtii from him, these should be ready next spring I've some confusa as well from the sab shop and Dood thé Dood ones are doing the best atm all these plants are destined to be planted on a 45 degree hill side that has lotsa rocky out crops. good for drainage etc I love them and will look after them very well theres already an acacia orchard the other side of the valley i planted last year and some this winter, these are doing ok, though i don't think some are getting enough drainage so I've dug drainage channels from their holes so any excess water drains away
  2. hey guys, i recently got given a bag of lemons from a friend, they look like lemons on the outside but when you cut it open the flesh inside is green like a lime and the flavour is both lemony and zingy like a lime, so epic! they also dont produce seeds.. i asked him whats the go? apparently the old guy who owned the place before had put in a lime tree too close to a lemon tree...the limes that the other tree produces are mutated also... what's happening here?? is it cross pollination?? or have the roots grown together making some kind of weird natural graft?? what would happen if i grafted a mandarin to this set up? id love to try and re create this at my place. any advice? ideas? thanks for your feedback
  3. I rung aquis or Biosecurity or who ever they call them selves theses days, spoke to a very nice lady who did a great job. She has fwd me all the info and links on obtaining licences to import cacti etc...... And the best news is all Trichocereus genus are legal to posses and cultivate in the state of South Australia. Wooooooot I thought fellow SA people who may not know this may like to know
  4. i have ordered a calf which I'm going to call cubensis this calf hasn't even been born yet and is 3 months away i live in a state that is in the south of the country and cubensis don't grow here at all. i believe by introducing spores to the cows water we may see some results at certain times off the year when the conditions may be right here. i thought we might want to chat about it while we await cubensis's arrival in 3 months time once she has been properly weened from her mum etc am going for a meat cow as i can't be bothered milking a cow 2ce a day
