I'm not sure if The Traveler has made it possible to become a new member again yet, but if so, this question belongs on the nexus -

Mathematics and the Psychedelic Revolution
Seldom replied to mu!'s topic in Creativity, Spirituality & Philosophy
isn't he talking about mathematically analyzing vibrational patterns in spacetime as a means of understanding consciousness in terms of patterns of (probably 'nano') vibration in the human nervous system/brain. .. if so then it makes little sense, and contributes nothing to consciousness studies .. modelling 'vibrational patterns in spacetime' can't afford priveledged access to understanding how the nervous system relates to consciousness because the nervous system is itself of coarse, according to this idea, also made of space time. it crashes into the same wall as most other empirical theories of consciousness .. the only conclusion could be the wet blanket of panpsychism, which would never be proved, only implied by the assumed identity between the stuff of the world and the stuff of consciousness vibrational fractal patterns being extremely prominent, amplified experiences while on psychedelics & so the use of psychedelics can potentially very much help one to experientially understand this process which can follow on to developing more accurate mathematical models. .. and yet empirical constucts like the notion of phosphenes possess a much higher level of experimental reliability and validity than the trip report phenomenology of 'wow the shiny colours are like fractals' .. even if hallucinated patterns were fractals, I don't see how tripping could provide 'experiential understanding' that would help to mathematically model vibrations, any more than taking a shower would help an uneducated person to understand the chemical composition of water .. p.s - i love you, paradox -
Mathematics and the Psychedelic Revolution

after reading through that OP I have to ask, what am I missing ? .. where's the relation ? how do the two fit together ? this article explains nothing - "new definition of mathematics as the study of space/time patterns" ? - this sounds like Einstein, not Ralph Abraham .. What's the connection ? -

.. you do have something that looks like burkittii/acuminata/neurophylla, something about the pods are a bit off, your area and the bushy growth habit suggests maybe neurophylla or burkittii, but I've seen taxonomical surveys done in the last couple of years showing populations of a. multispicta and a. sessilispica in SA .. either way, it's a plant to be treated with respect, always remember bad things happen to people who take without giving

last night i gave a 15 minute spiel confessing to my girl how during a recent break i got with someone else, just once, and her only answer, looking at me with those big eyes, in her gorgeous Croatian accent, was " 's orrite bruz' .. she speaks 3 languages and is also a fire twirler, and studies natural sciences, and listens to Tom Waits, and cuddles for days, and calls agapanthus's angry panthers. i love love <3

Acacia Phlebophylla - Mt Buffalo National Park Victoria
Seldom replied to THCixx420's topic in News & Notices
.. how is this a sacred species to any of you ? why, because it contains 'light'? read some Terrence McKenna and think it's a 'teacher plant' ? Mt Buffalo is sacred - to Indigenous people, for reasons relating to ceremony, marriages, the summer bogong moth feasts, as a species phlebophylla is an ancestor tree to certain skin groups for local tribes. This has been the case for tens of thousands of years. the fuck can any of you hold even a candle to this. people have been taking from this site for a long time. There was a period when a group of well known American 'ethnobotany enthusiasts' would fund trips to Aus by bringing back vegemite jars full of phleb 'light'. Ask torsten, the situation's been a lot worse than it is now. it's not presently listed as an endangered species. Ross, J.H. (2000) found phlebophylla to be naturalised in 2 other locations, with each of these locations contains 6-8000 adult specimens. The OP is horrendous to see, and it's a rotten sore on the face of Australian ethnobotany. But the same can be said of certain stands of obtusifolia in the blue mountains (n.b why is ethnobotany a spelling mistake). people are doing more harm than good to rabbit on about how 'our sacred phleb is so endangered, stay away from it'. There's no better publicity than a censor, and a there are certain other juliflorae that are in a much more dire state than the phleb. for all those playing along at home, there is a 'light' containing wattle within 2 hours of where you live, irrespective of where you are. if you live in town, search for a common cultivator called acacia floribunda, it will probably be growing in the front yard of someone who, if you ask, would probably be happy to let you prune it. look up any number of psychoactive acacia lists, there are a plethora of viable candidates. it is egregious, culturally disrespectful, lazy, and just fucking nasty to take from Mt Buffalo. -
^ Hegel would say that if its malignant properties are made redundant via its other properties then it becomes its own counter-agent, and through dialectic synthesis of opposites the foods would be forced beyond themselves and cease to exist in the mode of being-a-food. they would simply be too paradoxical to eat. does a philosophy reveal more about the phenomena which it addresses, or does it reveal more about the internal configuration of values within the philosopher ?

NSW Government to seize babies of mothers who use drugs
Seldom replied to CLICKHEREx's topic in News & Notices
"The christians, jews and muslims all know that if you want to control a population you simple outbreed it." "we all know what that demographic is, we also have a pretty good idea what to expect from them. The way they vote based on mediahype rather than an understanding of policies. The level of violence at home and externally that is statistically significantly higher than the opposite demographic. The divorce rate, the low level of education of the next generation, the level of crime, etc" generalisations like this are ridiculous. i have met 10 year olds with a more mature approach to the issue. ime it's useless arguing with torsten. after observing his posts on and off for a couple of years, i think he has little of value to contribute other than knowledge about drugs and plants. this is only my opinion. -

just spreading seeds, if you mix 2/3rds rustoleum bucket paint, 1/3 paint thinner + a good dollop of dot 3 brake fluid, you get a krink that, even if it gets buffed, will leech into concrete and leave a 'ghostie' that will never die. also words written on stainless steel surfaces in oxidising agents will live forever
