    Crabbing/octopussing off piers

Of course not. Legality aside, using a speargun is not a good idea because it can destroy the meat. Also, it's best to avoid shooting at rocks, as it bends the shaft, and rocks are the only place you will find these lobsters. I just use a glove and grab them out of their holes.

    Crabbing/octopussing off piers

If you can organise a wetsuit/mask/fins/gloves I'd also recommend looking for Eastern Rock Lobsters. I used to spearfish a fair bit down your way and we'd always come away with a few. There isn't much to it, and there is nothing better than a freshly cooked lobster that's only been out of the water <30mins... Here's a bit more info: http://www.sydneyspearfishing.com.au/fish/eastern-rock-lobster

    Show off your freaks

Yeah that's the one I was talking about. It was sitting around on the ground for months after they chopped it down, but it's all gone now (including the stump).

    Crested Myrtillocactus Geometrizans

Hamiltons definitely had a few at the last NSW Autumn show. I might be swinging past there tomorrow (or at least in the next week or two) so I'll have a look for you mate.

    Show off your freaks

Not my plant, haha. The mother plant is located near to me and lucid1 is growing a few cuttings from it (pics above).

    Show off your freaks

This plant is just down the road from me. lucid1, if you are looking for any more regular Cereus peruvianus there is over 50metres lying on the ground just around the corner from this one.

    Feeling Breathless after Nangs

Ahh, I see what you're talking about now. That's pretty cool. I'm guessing it's mainly for technical divers or something?

    Feeling Breathless after Nangs

Scuba divers actually use (Enriched Air) Nitrox, which is just a mix of Nitrogen and Oxygen (N2/O2). It is different to Nitrous Oxide (N2O), or Nitronox, which is what you may be thinking of. Even if it was N2O used, a ratio of 80:20 wouldn't be much good for diving, haha. There are a few bulb brands on the market that claim to be medical grade. I guess it just depends on whether you believe their fancy certifications or not.

Both of your IDs are correct. The second one I can't remember, maybe an Agaricus sp. or something... Pan cyans are beautiful mushrooms.

Bilpin Rare Plants Fair 13-14 April 2013

I caught the last 15 mins after work yesterday. As OPP said, pretty small but a fair few interesting plants getting around. Only one stall was selling cacti (when I was there) and he had a few small Loph willi var. caes tucked under the bench - they were priced a bit high for what they were though (I also overheard him talking to another stallholder about the stolen Loph). He did have some nice old Astrophytums and Pachypodiums though.

    opium in se asia

Why do you want to meet opium growers so much? There isn't much that they could teach you that you couldn't learn on the internet, plus you would be putting yourself (and potentially them) in danger. A lot of the opium around the Golden Triangle is controlled by guerilla groups and I don't think they would appreciate a foreigner nosing around in their business. If you got on the wrong side of a person/group involved in this trade you could literally disappear overnight - life is very cheap in these areas. If you really want to smoke opium, or weed/opium mixes, or whatever else tickles your fancy, I can direct you to some places in Asia where it is easily accessible, cheap and relatively safe (but still illegal). If you just want to look at fields of Papaver somniferum then why not visit a country where it is legally grown for the medical industry? Australia is one of them (Tasmania to be precise).

NSW Police warn of 'Gangnam Style' acid

I always thought Australia was relatively safe from nBOMEs, given the fact that they are just as illegal as other illicit compounds, but at a recent party I was offered 25b, 25c, 25d and 25i. Admittedly all of these people were offering their wares with full disclosure, but there are many unscrupulous individuals who will not do the same thing, so be warned everyone. LSD can have/leave a tingling sensation or metallic taste (sometimes at the back of the throat). However, if it is bitter you can narrow it down to 25(x)-nBOME or DO(x). If it has a numbing effect it is most likely 25(x)-nBOME. If it is extremely bitter, and has no numbing effect, it could be DO(x), and you may want to prepare yourself (mentally and physically) for a long-ass ride. Also, the general consensus is that 25(x)-nBOME is not orally active, even when complexed, so swallowing your blotter may help you differentiate between LSD and 25(x)-nBOME (although it will not help with DO(x) as that is also orally active).

some flippin' sweet crests on ebay

Definitely. Kinda surprised the second one didn't go for more though given the buying frenzy on the first one.

some flippin' sweet crests on ebay

First one went from $102 to $395 in the last 5 mins. Second one is coming up soon. It's kind of fun watching the total tick up in the last few minutes.

Sydney Plant Swap - 02/03/13 @ Bents basin

So glad I made the last minute decision to go to this - there's an awesome bunch of people on this forum! Next time I'll make better plans so I can party the night away with you all. Oh and I realise now that I really should have asked people for their forum names; I have no idea who is who, haha. p.s. Hope I didn't chew your ears off too much (I get a bit excited when I actually have people to talk about ethnos with).

    Quarantine issue

You'll probably need to provide a bit more info: What sort of plant? Is this WA domestic/internal quarantine? Or an international parcel? Would they have proof of order? i.e. Did it come with an invoice or anything like that? Has your friend been warned or been in trouble with quarantine before?
