these metabolites are there cos you're growing them for too long on the same plate. While you can get away with it, it's suboptimal to allow cultures to cover the agar surface. You should be subculturing and transferring mycelium from the leading edge.

yeah it would work. The bigger bottle can reduce the need to transplant it to an intermediate pot bottle tek is basically the same thing as takeaway tek. many different bottles or container would work. Bonus points that the container is recycled

oh you're right, apparently it is self-fertile. I don't know why mine didn't give seed. Are you cutting your plants down? you say there won't be more seed in the future

i've seen one flower 4 years after transplanting from a cutting. it may be possible for them to flower even sooner than that. I didn't get any seeds though cause they are self-sterile

hope med science is a more fulfilling path than IT for you I studied med sci, albeit only partly out of financial motivation. I was disillusioned at the prospects, pay and way of life when I came out the other end. I didn't pursue a career in medical science, and kinda regret wasting years of my youth and money at uni. If I had my time again I would probs have either not gone to uni or studied something more aligned to my personal interests. i think it's better to try and fail doing what you truly love than compromise and be unsatisfied even if you succeed. you can also learn most of what you can learn through uni about chem, botany and mycology independently

true, you might use less sharps. i've even heard of people autoclaving and reusing single-use needles if you're inoculating substrates via SHIPs, you don't wanna use too blunt of a needle that may create a big enough pore in the SHIP to allow contams in. you can definitely sterilise the metal syringe. Most ppl would rather just use ones that come gamma sterile. They only cost about 20 cents i'm not saying think it can't be done, but imo it's not better than the alternative

I've only ever heard of LC and spore syringes as standard 10 or 25cc disposable medical syringes, never cartridges. I'm fairly confident they don't exist in that form. The only advantage the metal dentist ones have is maybe waste reduction, but it comes at the expense of a convenience, costs upfront and to sterilise, and efficient workflow. Imagine the nightmare of having to sterilise the metal syringe between inoculations of different strains or species.

I'm a bit confused by your posts Freakosystem, for a few reasons. Most people in Australia were vaccinated with mRNA vaccines (the first mRNA products approved for human use), not with vaccines which included the spike protein itself. While the spike mRNA is translated into the spike protein in vivo, I don't think spike mRNA behaves exactly the same way as the spike protein from a pharmacological perspective. mRNA is also subject to degradation in storage and transport to a greater degree than traditional antigen vaccines. Not to mention nucleic acids can cause biological effects independently of the activity of proteins that may or may not be translated from them downstream. I've been curious for a while where the idea comes from that resultant concentrations of spike from mRNA vaccination are lower than during covid infection, let alone orders of magnitude lower. Is there any literature anyone knows of that has compared concentrations of circulating spike protein in covid-19 infection versus vaccination?

For sure. It's likely not worth the effort or resources with a controlled environment. If you look at the environment in Thailand where they are endemic to, daytime highs are almost never below 30 C year-round. Mid 30s + high humidity are the norm. Considering SE Asia is where most of the high quality kratom comes from, I suspect secondary metabolites of interest would be richest in concentration under these conditions - at the very least we know that high quality kratom is produced under these conditions. I've read some stuff about post-harvest processing, like sun drying leaves in a plastic bag that supposedly causes the leaves to go red and become richer in 7-HO-M but there's also a lot of rubbish info circulating about this plant. It's a shame that it's banned in Australia when people with chronic pain conditions benefit from it. Some people have had serious side effects from it, and the hepatoxicity / o-desmethyl-tramadol contamination issue was a worry, but it can't be compared to the public health threats that alcohol or tobacco are

apologies in advance for the poor quality and camera wobbling - it's hard to capture faint objects against the night sky. Click the .gif to see the line of lights I saw this moving across the sky last Saturday night, Central Coast NSW. Approx 8 PM. It was a chain of lights in a perfect line moving slower than a plane. They didn't seem to be attached to a plane. Looked like a line of drones. Any ideas? ( ALSO - In this area, we've also noticed drones for at least the past 4 years every night from when it gets dark to a couple hours before first light. They come up over a ridge and do grid patterns, they look similar to stars and are only noticeable by what we believe are IR cameras that reflect the moonlight. They remain in one area, but wobble slightly due to wind, then every 15 mins or so will move a large distance - seemingly covering a grid. No, I'm not on the pipe Everyone I've pointed them out to agrees. Has anyone else seen or heard about these? )

I think you might be preaching to the choir with this one. The cannabis driving laws are ridiculous, even for "recreational" users. A field sobriety test or something is all we need, rather than some sketchy swab with high false positives where you can lose your license and livelihood for smoking weed 3 days ago. The only difference is you have a slightly better idea of how strong it is. This is more of an argument for legalisation than for punishing drivers who smoke the crime weed. Just cause the medical weed says T25 - there is going to be biological variation between each batch that could be as high or higher than 5%. There's also medical cannabis out there with %'s of 30+, it would be rare to find black market that strong, let alone stronger. On a side note - Has anyone here ever been so impaired off cannabis alone that they felt they were unable to drive?

It does vary by state, NSW they're kosher. VIC and QLD i think they're not. I guess what i meant by out the bag is that if you are curious about psychoactive plants, or know people with similar interests you will eventually be informed or figure out these plants are readily available. Consuming them is still illegal, and selling / advertising them for consumption or as a source of mesc would be too. That's probs why Bunnings doesn't do it, and why I think the name and advertising on mescalinegarden.com is a bit iffy. But we've all seen some pretty wild ads for cacti out there, amongst all the other stuff you see on the SAB facebook page and other sites I agree with you fyzygy. I don't see the need or upside to shouting about these things from the rooftops and drawing attention. I'm trying not to be ignorant about it, on one hand it's spreading awareness about the hobby, but I just struggle to understand the upside for the rest of the community or understand the motivation behind it
