Summer Cacti Clear Out (EVEN MORE Cuttings Added)
Ambient replied to Ambient's topic in Seed & Plant Sales
Just added a few large Cliff cuttings to the original post. I'll leave them as they are for a few days, but if there isn't much interest I'll be chopping them down to more easily posted sizes.- 21 replies

They have have nice orange spines and a more glaucous coloration on the new growth, quite a pretty cactus. The cuttings that are for sale are the lower sections of those back three tip cuttings. Each cutting was around 3m long before realising they weren't going to fit in the car...
-
Unfortunately no photos of the mother, but I do have a few tip cuttings which may better exhibit the type of growth you can expect from this clone. I'll take a few snaps and post soon.
-
Thick healthy Peruvianus cuttings available, all calloused and ready to plant, local pick up preferred. EDIT: I've cut these down to size so they're easier to post, check out the new sale thread here

Yesterday I caught up with an old mate whom I haven't seen in a while. On their balcony I noticed this great looking cacti and much to their surprise, commented on what it may be and some of the likely growth characteristics. To me it looks like a pachanoi of sorts, but I don't think it's a PC Pachanoi. What are your thoughts on a more specific ID?

Maybe... haha was good times, you should have come.

Cheers for the help and suggestion guys, a Rosei 1 actually just arrived today Hopefully I'll be able to find a Len within my price range this summer.

I received this as an unlabelled peruvianus cutting a few years ago which took a bit of nursing back to health before it finally started putting out some decent fresh growth last year. I think it looks similar to an Icaro DNA peruvianus, but would like to know if it resembles a specific clone, or is just a random Icaro, or other peru?

cool, cheers for clarifying, just wanted to check before bidding

Just wanted to make sure, the auction is for the mid section cut only, not both cuttings?

Trading T. Bridgesii Cliff for Sharxx Blue.
Ambient replied to Mapacho's topic in Seed & Plant Swaps
Cliff's spinitation really is beautiful & makes it one of the most forgiving bridgesii to handle that I'm aware of. However it's not a forgiving teacher if you don't treat it with respect ;) Great photos by the way man. -
That's fkd man, I can't even imagine how awkward that lady will be feeling any time she sees you now. Not only that, but the fact that it was pre-meditated theft and she had convinced a child to be her "jail cover" so that she could try and sneak around any potential confrontation. I'm glad the whole thing blew up in her face, but I'm more sorry to hear of the trouble you're having to endure with ongoing thievery. Have you considered fake or real cameras as a deterrent?

Cheers for the help with the ID, the little clusters of shorter spines had me confused. Something I learned today is that you never truly realise how bad your cactus hoarding tendencies have gotten until you need to move house... This is the first load, the rest will need a trailer.

Thanks to anyone who bought Cliff cuttings from me over the last few weeks, I've just sold the last of my share and am looking forward to donating the profits to Cliff (the person) . If you missed out on adding this great clone to your collection, Mapacho will have some beautiful long cuttings up for sale shortly.

I didn't do anything to my cacti today, but I did help a friend whom I haven't seen in a while organise some of theirs. Here's a few highlights from my visit. Unknown peruvianoid...? (not sure if it's worth starting an ID thread for this one, but if anyone thinks it looks like something they know I'd love to hear). A few T. Cuzcoensis Icaro peru And a Sausage peru

Turkey, Mapacho and me all helped cliff with some serious yard maintenance, like chainsaws and abseiling through the trees kinda stuff. As a way of thanking us for our efforts, Cliff offered us a number of bridgesii cuttings which we named after the man himself. Unfortunately cliff has a few medical conditions, hence why we were sailing through the trees in the first place, and why we have all been fundraising to help him cover medical expenses.
