hi michael speaking of hybrids, i have some seed-grown hybrids from a trich cross from the old of the Jungle ... cannot for the life of me remember what the cross was, any ideas?

i've been trying to track this one down as well ... no luck so far

cars make great planters i'd have to agree about the synergy between salvia and ... er ... um ... i find that the experience is usually one of greater clarity, a pleasant detachment, slightly dissociative ... definitely enhances the "here now" sensation, and lends itself to introspection and subtler perceptions ... there's something in there, no doubt.

on the subject of mixing ... my favourite smoking mix at the moment is california poppy, salvia dried leaf, and ... umm ... some other herb i ... ah ... don't remember the name of makes for a very pleasant "high" indeed, and tobacco free, roll a few and chill out in the garden

have you managed to breakthrough with 10x rev? i haven't any experience with it, but looking like that may be the way to go since i can't seem to cram enough 5x in to get me further into salvia space ...

why not make your own? you can order dried foliage from within or outside australia, and there's plenty of extraction information on the net ... try seibert's site (don't know the url off hand) acetone from your local hardware store can be used as the solvent.

recently bought some x preisii seed, trying to germinate them with artifical smoke crystals ... they really smell like bushfires i've just got them in seed raising mix, smoke crystals on soil surface, covered with plastic and sitting outside in filtered sunlight (or they will be if it ever stops raining in sydney) if you're in sydney these can be found at the wildflower florist in darling harbour, along with the smoke crystals happiness ea

i spent a bit of time working on a fruit tree nursery a couple of years ago ... we sowed the inner kernel of mango seeds, length along the vertical, about as deep as they are long. unfortunately i wasn't around long enough to see them germinate i don't know the botanical term for it, but the seeds have several parts, and each one can germinate seperately ... beautiful smooth soft ... amazing seed good growing!

don't quote me but generally it is temperature and moisture that are critical to a seed's germination. light becomes a factor as soon as the seedling breaks the soil, the seed is designed (?) to supply enough nutrients to the new shoot to get it to the surface, once there photosynthesis becomes the main source of energy for the plant. this is why depth is so important to seed raising, because if the food stores of the seed run out before the seedling reaches the surface, and therefore light, then it will die. did the calamus actually sprout while soaking in the water? interesting ... be careful that you didn't plant them to deep for the above reasons happiness ea

interesting question ... i guess it would depend on the individual. at any rate, i think the use of hemlock has been confirmed in closely-guarded formulae handed down over the ages ... but then again i may not know what i'm talking about at all
