You could slip them. The opposite of your idea is done in bonsai sometimes. Lift the rootball ans pad a little layer of soil in the bottom and put the plant back in there. Then try to poke down soil in the gaps along the side as good as you can. It's better for the plant. Depending on who your patient is.

Emotions; a gardeners perspective
Fluss replied to MikeyMagic's topic in Creativity, Spirituality & Philosophy
WW - A quick not so looked trough answer would be: That it's just a way to share other ways boring and often heard information and give it some sort of chance to be enjoyed and sculptured by the individual (?) maaaybe If the blatant truth is written straight up it wouldn't be worth looking at almost, right? Maybe it would be but then it's more something to solve than to be appreciated by others (like a forum revolves around really) -
Emotions; a gardeners perspective

That was nice don't forget, it's easier pulling weeds with a friend! Little deeds are like little seeds, they grow to flowers or to weeds! But in all honesty, most gardens have weeds don't they? They might turn into a flower with an eye of understanding. -
It won't ever go away completely, but if it gets thick enough it wont be as visible as it is now, it's only way more prominent now because of it's size. It might be hard to achieve the required circumference, if it's in the north western Europe growing conditions.

I have a setup with almost exactly the same sort of light, only higher Watt, mine are 45W a piece, for the moment i have 2 - wich have satisfied me more then i thought, my succulents and my bamboo just love it. One more on the way! The columnar cacti won't be growing as fat as they do out in the sun(no surprise) but other then that the combo of being cheap in their consumption of energy and satisfying my plants i think it's OK for the price I payed. Picked mine up for cheap here in Sweden on a Ebay site, for my soon 3 x 45w i have payed 120 aus. dollars in total, including shipping from hongkong. I think it's worth it if they last me a couple of years. I don't even have them as close to the lights as i could, I have a couple of longleafed bastards in there and they don't burn the leaves even when only 1-3 cm away from the diode it seems.

It's in the magnitude of seeing your firstborn child, or your father passing away. - I had no idea - Just 8 hours laying on a couch, here at the university, it's something at its' core that has to do with ethical and moral behavior about the sense of the interconnectiveness of all people and things, at it's heart - were talking about altruism at it's truest state.

Hello everybody! I had a wild discussion with my friends last night over a matter that's quite trivial but I'd like to get everybodys opinion on it. It is shortly summarized with me saying that I consciously choosing or retain myself from thinking of another woman who or whose man/husband i have enough respect for. Some very close friends and a role model of mine since long for example, and a old friend of mine, but in general all my _real_ female friends. Their side is shortly summarized with: Me not being able to tell the difference between a thought and reality, that the thought doesn't hurt anyone if it stays within yourself (i don't disagree with that) And that it's not a real genuine thought. I'm basically doing it because I see it as iv'e done something wrong (because they would be upset if they knew) the only thing that doesn't make it come out as wrong is they not knowing. They feel that nothing wrong is being made, because of the fact that the other one wont ever find out about it. Therefore wont ever be negatively affected by it. PLEASE tell me what you do/think about this, how high you value respect, how close one must be to you for you to not think about her and feel more then free to fill in other stuff. I value respect incredibly high and i think that might be why or that none of my friends have had an own girl for 4 years so.. maybe that's why, or that they don't have anyone in their life which they have enough respect for? I can look a man straighter in his eyes if I haven't, than if I would have fantasized about his wife at some point. You might understand why we discussed this for almost three hours last night. Excuse my - probably weird - way of expressing myself if something is unclear or so just shout it out since I'm not that familiar with writing in English.

Haha I'm one of those creatures with a ball sack and a single action heat seeking moisture-missile actually, haha but alright ;D Generally I don't think it matters what sex and how much of it is answering the question. It was a question for everybody but my own main interest was if other guys could see themselves thinking the same way. -

Modifying the gene that makes a plant flower - finite vegetative state
Fluss replied to Fluss's topic in Sustainable Technologies & Ethical Living
Aaah, good point! Thank's for enlightening me about that one, didn't thought of it at all! In that case it would be catastrophic for the food chain, i bet ya a lot of new problems would appear as well. -

To tell if you have a good soil mix, just test how long it will hold water in the spot and size of the pot you were to place the loph. it should drain out access water quickly and i don't know about your climate, but i want my soils to dry out in a matter of a day or two really. It's also important that you think as little organic material as possible. Especially when it's stressed. To have it passed down to you after a fallen owner, what a privilege! Maybe someday you will meet him again, just on another level in your own head.

It's so nice to wander about finding them fellas with a couple of good friends! Just a general question - have you experienced better night's out on the pub when drinking freshly brewed beer? I find myself enjoying the beer much more if it's freshly brewed right of the tap. Good luck!

Haha you're right Amazonian! Get him into some good draining soil and let him settle his nerves for a couple of weeks. And then re hydrate the poor bastard! There's a pup on the front of the pic as well, on the right hand side... Good luck with the collection.

Wow, really that many?? it would be very comfy if there was a world map with all the species so that one can see what grows where and what too watch out for... ;)
-
Hello and welcome! You will fit in nicely here, I insist of you taking pictures of your various projects and plants! Also give your local nursery a visit and get one of them spiky things ;) The members in Aus. seems to be very generous of free seeds - so keep your eyes open.

Try to get a hold of an old aquarium! If not on a yard sale or e-bay you might have a friends friend who hasn't looked after it for years, also wouldn't mind getting rid of it for free or a cheap buck.

Seeing your thoughts in the world around you
Fluss replied to bogfrog's topic in Creativity, Spirituality & Philosophy
I think it's completely normal to be honest with you, it goes the other way around as well imagine yourself seeing a beautiful sunset - brings calmness and a sense of contempt. It's in our nature to be affected by our surroundings - also the smallest things at times. But I think there is a strong difference between how easily one is affected by the negative ones. That factor I would believe depends on how happy you are at that moment or day or possibly stress, so you might be better of focusing your mind on solving the problems/ causes for stress in the back of your head Might be work or emotional stress/problems. Ask if you could get a nice oil massage from your love, it's easy and simple. A sense of some recognition and compassion is never wrong for anyone!
