Meet up: Sydney, Central Coast, Newcastle

I'm keen to come but I don't know if it will be possible for me, I'll be a full time Mum by then and won't have a car. I was keen to check out Horus' implants & see if he makes that bionic noise like Steve Austin did.

Adelaide Arrest - Commercial Cubensis Grow

There's so many thing wrong with that article I don't where to start, which is probably a good thing because it would end up as an epic drunken rant. I hope they got their definitions sorted better on the charge sheet than the crap that so called journo spouted. If they didn't I could have it thrown out with 1 precisely worded affidavit. From the article linked above I'm tempted to go to a payphone and instigate a large scale search for the elusive wild goose.
  3. I've been smoke free since Jan 3 this year. The last time I lasted nearly 2 years before I tried "just one" and got hooked again. I'd been smoke free for over 6 years one other time when I quit. I tried patches and gums years ago but they never worked. I've always believed they are complete bullshit. It's another fraud like almost everything else offered by modern medicine. The best quitting resource I found was a PDF titled "Never Take Another Puff" by Joel Spitzer http://whyquit.com/joel/ntap.pdf Joel was one of the first people to even recognise smoking tobacco as an addiction, the medical establishment believed it was just a habit for way too long before they started calling it an addiction. In his PDF he explains the best way to successfully quit has been and always will be cold turkey no matter what bullshit the quacks believe or what crap they try to sell you. Paraphrasing here but Joel explains it like this. Imagine telling a heroin addict or any other addict the best way to quit is to take a small dose of the substance they are addicted to every day. They'd never get the chance to break the addiction. If you wanted to be really cruel to any addict you could let them go through the early stages of withdrawal and then give them a tiny hit once a day to keep the addiction in tact. That's Joel's allegory to cutting down. Why subject yourself to repeated withdrawal symptoms and then re-instate the addiction to do it again. 10 studies screaming "leave replacement nicotine alone!" The title of the article says 10 studies but there are actually 12. And the website where you can find Joel's work. http://whyquit.com/ I quit because I was a chain smoker and it was costing me too much, I've already saved over $200 in just one week. A pack of 30's (cheap brand) was about $30 when I quit, so they work out to almost exactly $1 per smoke.. How much are smokes in the US @Auxin ? If anyone from any other countries wants to show just how much we are getting fucked over, post how much they cost in your country or corporation masquerading as a country (like THE COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA) Never Take Another Puff Never Take Another Puff Never Take Another Puff

This thread is morphing into a coming out party. It reminds me of something a 60 something year old guy said to me for a comic break on a construction site one time when nothing was happening because we were waiting for a crane to arrive. No wonder men are turning Buy-sexual, we can't get sex at home so we have to go out and buy it.

    Arduino for beginners

^ That wasn't a bad project in it's day, but things have moved on a lot since that was started. These days you can do the same thing with Raspi 0 W that's not much bigger than a cigarette lighter has onboard wifi and runs much simpler code. You can access it from a web browser and even control it from your phone (anywhere in the world if you set your router up for it) all for about 23 bucks. I've moved away from Arduino's lately, they still have their place but I don't really bother with them much anymore.
  11. Got your new Arduino and don't know what to do with it, can't program ?, can't read code ? No problem. The video seems to hang around half way but it hasn't stopped, it's loading the Arduino IDE and it takes a while to start up. The ./ before Arduino is the linux run command.First you'll need to get the Arduino IDE https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/Software You'll also need the Java runtime environment to run Ardublock you can pick the appropriate version - 32 or 64 bit after you follow the link on the page below. http://java.com/en/download/ The video above is for seting it up under linux, if you're running windows check out this link https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/alternative-arduino-interfaces/ardublock Or (for Windows)you can just download the Arduino IDE that already has Ardublock built into it. https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Makeblock-official/ardublock/master/installer/Ardublock-full-installation-package.exe This vid explains things a bit better. If you can blink an LED you can switch a relay to operate any 240v device with an add on relay shield. My 6 year old son is coding like a champ after playing around with these tools, anyone can do it these days.

    American style BBQ

I just braved the jungle out the back to get a few snaps. I originally made it to use as a fire pit & I planned to fit a mesh rack in the ring under the hole in the side. It's got heaps of 1/2" holes drilled into the bottom and around the side near the bottom for airflow but it really doesn't need them for the way I'm using it now. I was also planning to make a grille to fit over the hole in the top so I can use it like a hibachi but I'm a lazy bastard and I never did any of that after I realised a camp oven would perfectly in the hole in the top. It just works so well how it is. I ran out of charcoal last time, so that's why it's got dead heat beads in the firebox. You can just see a few of the ceramic stones under the heat beads. I hate heat beads they stink and smoke the whole street out when you first light them up. Given the choice I'd use charcoal every time. It's a bit hard to see but there's 2 stainless bowls on top which gives a bit of insulation & it works well in all weather, rain is no problem.

    American style BBQ

I made a charcoal cooker from an old keg. I cut a hole in the top that a camp oven fits into and the firebox is a stainless sieve with ceramic stones in the bottom so the arse doesn't get burnt out of it. The firebox sits on an old baby formula tin to bring it up closer to camp oven. I put a large stainless bowl over the top after the camp oven goes in to retain the heat. When it's all up and running it looks a bit like a stainless R2-D2, we call it the R2-BQ. It is a bit cumbersome compared to a commercial cooker but it's super efficient and only uses a few handfuls of charcoal to cook a roast. I had everything except the ceramic stones, so all up it cost me about $12 and a bit of elbow grease. The only cuts of meat I cook these days are slow cooked lamb shoulders and I cook them at about 140-150 C for for 5 hours. I cook mine until it falls off the bone & we never have to use a knife to portion it out. I use an egg flipper to tease it off the bone and portion it out. My lamb shoulder recipe for one shoulder, I normally do two. 3 cloves of garlic 2 sprigs of fresh rosemary a good whack of cracked pepper about a teaspoon of salt a few shakes of sage powder I peel the garlic and put it into my mortar with a good splash of olive oil and then put all the other ingredients in and grind it all up to a slurry with the pestle. Then I cut a cross hatch pattern (about 2 cm diamonds/squares) across the skin side of the lamb and massage the seasoning slurry into all the cuts I just made. The bottom of the camp oven tends to get a bit hotter than the internal air space, so I thickly slice some large onions and line the bottom of the camp oven with them keep the meat from touching the bottom. Then I put the meat in & close it up cook for about 5 hours at 140-150 C. The onion gets overcooked so I just toss it when the meat's done. Every time I open it (normally twice during cooking) to add more charcoal I put a few small green eucalyptus twigs on the charcoal to get some smoke/flavour happening. The same recipe works well in a normal oven inside but it doesn't taste anywhere near as good as one cooked on R2-BQ

    Watch this space

I wouldn't expect anything less from a criminal cartel born in the concentration camps of nazi Germany - big pharma that is. That's standard practice in the medical world, they compatmentalise everything and then take the myopic view that if it fixes/suppresses the symptom in question it must be good and disregard any side effects. Then they get to sell you other drugs to suppress the side effects of the original drug while you spiral into your grave with their hands in your wallet whole time.

    Which coir brick to use?

Most of it is marketing hype from people selling "premium" coir. They'll tell you it's high in salt and detrimental to plants because of the salt but the salt is in such low concentrations it's almost irrelevant for most plants. It's nothing a good flush with fresh water won't fix. The real problem is the way raw coir can lock up nutrients and make them unavailable, which is an issue in hydro systems running pure coir as a growing medium. Mixed in a potting mix at less than 30% it's a non issue. The premium coir is normally partially composted, PH buffered and inoculated with various mycorrhizal fungi and beneficial bacteria to mediate the nutrient lockup issues. It's nothing a bit of dolomite or lime and few months in a compost pile won't do at home. So for growing mushrooms the premium stuff is not really ideal, just buy the cheap stuff from bunnings (sans fertiliser) and give it a flush. If you want to kick it up a gear find some horse shit that is old and well rotted and mix that in at anywhere up to 50% but it will have to be pasteurised before you use it.

I'm tempted to go off on a tangent and make an epic rant about longitudinal electricity now. Wireless power with 100% energy return and how Tesla's work was banned from universities and that shit. I'm too pissed to argue about relativity right now, so I'll hold myself back. The same people who controlled the past do indeed control the present, or at least the same type of people.

    The Random Thread.

I just want to give a big thanks to scott morrison for his fake promise to crack down on fuel price gouging over the holidays. I'm sure everyone watched the price creep up almost straight after he spun that web of deceit. The ACCC doesn't even start monitoring the situation until next year and petrol pricing is unregulated like almost everything else in a free market economy so his smiling promise to crack down was bullshit from the outset and he knew damn well it was bullshit. An illegitimate government is like a bull with no balls and no horns, they can't fight, they can't fuck, so all they do is sit around all day and bullshit.

    MSS Signing Off

Having more than 800 pics goes well past a casual interest in anything in my book, that's getting into the realms of obsession. It's hard be believe that someone so obsessed with any topic would be happy just look at pictures and not take it any further. Maybe he's one of those new wave ethical peadophiles with higher morals more than the garden variety rock spider. They have a special place for rock spiders in Australian prisons, one can only hope it's the same in the US.
