    Frog feeding help

What species of frog are they and how small are they? If they are tiny, aphids are good, also fruit fly from the compost bin. Make a swoop net with fine mesh and sweep it through grass to pick up meadow plankton. Shops that supply crickets can usually order smaller crickets , you could ask them. Colder weather can make slim pickings for wild caught food. Maggots are usually not digested and are better left to pupate. Pupae from a meat diet are usually blow flies and too big for small froglets, better off with house flies that usually diet on cereals and cowpats etc. I have recipies for breeding house flies, but if you only have a few frogs it won't be worth the trouble. You could put a heap plastic aquarium plants in the water to reduce insects drowning while you have to feed small insects.

    Meet up: Melbourne

^ lol, I was just logging on to reply to your post drifter, but you edited, Perhaps we should just set dates well in advance and if people can make it, they can post a few days before. I haven't had a good walk around the gardens for years, so I don't mind going for a walk around if no one shows up, more cheese, sundried tomatoes and olives for me, lol. The idea of having meets at people's houses is an option, however, I kinda don't have visitors so I'd feel bad for not reciprocating. So going by the most recent posts in this thread we'd have less than half dozen of us at the next meet. Unless more people chime in, perhaps we should postpone for now, but lock in a date for later. ( first Saturday of each season?!)

    Warning for Sydney/NSW people

I wouldn't think that's a normal occurrence any time of the year...funnel webs peeing barefoot?! Funnel webs fascinate me, and I can say that coz I don't live in Sydney. . We do have funnel webs in Victoria, not sure of the venom strength compared to Sydney funnel webs. Good idea Zeus to take them for milking, if there is a lot around, they may need a good storage of antivenin

The Great Global Warming/Cooling Thread Part 2

This thread is called 'The great global warming/cooling thread Part 2' because the first global warming cooling thread went pretty much where this one is going and was canned. Let's not have it happen a second time?!

Aw, fancy pants. I wish things were easier for you guys. Bloody lawyers still fleecing you huh?! If it's still about dodgy builders......that's been going on forever?! . I wish yous all the best with what ever it is that life has thrown you. Your Freya is a nice looking dog . Don't feel so bad about not getting Her out and about much, my sister has a Geman Sheperd that is now 13 and has only been out for a walk a few times. He's giant and my sister can't control him as she has disabilities. But he has had the best life, lots of love, good food, plays with the cat, sleeps on the bed...gets treated like her child, lol. You know....you could always get a playmate for Freya , a smaller dog. I'd recommend a ferret instead as they play well with dogs ( from my experience) , but geez they stink, and are messy, funny as heck though.

    Pet dogs.

Not a current photo.will update later. This is my dog, "Killer". He is in his 17th- 18th year. I inherited him 16 years ago when my mum left this world. In his younger days he was very aggressive towards other dogs and protective of who ever had him on their lap.( there were never any injuries to other dogs or people). We think he is a Foxy cross Chihuahua. Being a cross breed, he has been very healthy and only ever been to the vet to get a few teeth pulled. Being 17 or 18, he has his good days and bad days. We love him. Care to share a pic of your dog? Edit;I have been looking for the vaccination certificate all afternoon( first and only) just to try and work out killers age. In December 1992, killer was 5 months old ,so that makes him 18, turning 19 next July ,yeah?! Around 90 if he was human. He can still see and hear ,walk and pee.( not incontinent).

    Meet up: Melbourne

Well, I did try to organise a camp for the immediate future, but there wasn't a lot if interest shown, so i left the conversation and I can't add you raver buddy . Maybe someone else can add you . There is likely to be a camp later in the year, but I won't be trying to organise it. Lol. Perhaps we can set a date for a plant meet in the next couple of months. I'm flexible on dates so others can make a date, and if there's enough interest then it'll be a goer.

  22. Aw gawd, I did look at that photo when you first posted it, but I forgot. What did you say was good for elziemers again?! Lol.
  23. Have you seen this tree in flower Alchemical? I'm wondering what colour it is. I paid a lot of money for a pink flowering form only to find it was a white flower . I went back to the nursery and complained and all they offered me was another tree at a cheaper price, so I bought it. A few months later, it flowered, it was white also. Lol. The nursery had closed down and so I couldn't go back and complain again. I've bought some seeds from eBay and recently germinated a climbing version with pink/purple flowers *fingers crossed. Bauhinia are nice looking plants, the leaf shape is neat and the flowers are very orchid like . Thanks for sharing Alchemica . Great info .

Yeah let's organise this camp. We can generate a group PM for the nitty gritties ( exact location) . I'd rather it not be toooo far away, distance wise . As I'm a mum, Mother's Day isn't a good time for me to be away from home, also Easter weekend isn't great either. But if it's suits everyone else, then so be it, I don't mind, I will make the next camp.

    Meet up: Brisbane

It's good to see you encouraging meets there like you use to do here as a Melbournite Sharx. We had a meet yesterday, and we used the 'community picnic rug' ( donated by Sharxx many years ago) lol. I hope to see you at a Melbourne meet one day soon mate.
