I see it as the difference between killing an animal to feed your family and killing an animal for the hell of it and leaving the carcass on the side of the road.

I was a huge Bradbury fan when I was in highschool. His story 'the Veldt" still ranks up there for me as one of the best short stories ever written. A lot of his stories were about the negative effects of technology, so the above rant of his doesn't surprise me at all. Meh, I like my internet, sorry Ray. Don't worry, books haven't been replaced, just supplemented.

An eye for an eye...? Tomahawk the offender's ankles to the bone. I don't actually condone that, but man that sucks. Seriously, karma will get the perpetrator . Once he/she/they grow up and realise what they did that will weigh on their conscience til the day they die.

I've been interested in the Jesus was a mushroom theory for a long time, but the pics depicted on the cover of that book are psilocybes and the theory generally leans toward amanitas as the being sacred mushroom. Here's another link to a portal: http://www.egodeath.com/amanita.htm ...and one more for a little light reading http://www.atlanteanconspiracy.com/2008/09/jesus-christ-magic-mushroom-part-1.html

Acacia ID request
Rabaelthazar replied to Rabaelthazar's question in Plant Identification (non-cactus)
A very tempting offer, Amazonian, but I sorry, I must decline. -
Hi guys, could anyone id this tree? I don't believe it's the special kind, but this is one of my favourite trees to be around. I love the patterns on the bark and the neatness of the leaf patterns. My little boy loves stroking the leaves too. I'd love to grow some to give away as decorative presents. Much appreciated.

Pentax K-X, entry level D-SLR, but does enough and takes good enough quality photos to keep me happy. http://www.pentaximaging.com/slr/K-x_Black/ -
Yep, I spent some time in the Camberwell ghetto as a teenager. Got stuck up by some Grand Damage boys. Took ten bucks from me and then were kind enough to ask me if I had enough money to get home and ended up giving me enough back for tram fare. It was a hard life. I'm from the streets man, the streets!

Thanks Amazonian, that's definitely the same tree. The flowers have developed a little, but not quite as fluffy as the ones in your pic. I'l post some pics in a week or so to see the similarity. (just a good excuse to try out my new camera really) -

Are you sure you can't get that crack cocaine I asked about in your first post? Seems you can get everything else. I will happily trade you some chili seeds. -

It's one of those things, isn't it. I, myself, will never be a non-smoker. I'll always be a smoker who hasn't had one for a very long time.

Although, Sharxx, blossom is appearing on the trees and, last weekend, when it was sunny I could have sworn spring was in the air as I drove along the Eastern Freeway and marveled at all the yellow flowers that had sprung up along the embankment. If we go by the calendar, we're only two weeks away from that marvelous season... and only five weeks if we want to go by the more accurate, natural method of counting by the equinox. So close!!!

Yeah, this comment doesn't sit well with me. Violence and animalistic desires are a part of the human experience. It gets projected in all genres of music. Debussy wrote pieces about chicks he wanted to shag, "Jazz", as a word, was originally a synonym for shag Rock is about as ego driven as it could possibly be. Music is an expression of the human condition, and music is great. Some expressions, in all genres, are about violence or sex and some expressions are about the divine. As an example of hip hp with a divine message, try

Yeah, I was born in 79, but as a kid I was sure I was the reincarnation of Lennon. (So disappointed when I found he died after I was born). Sorry mate. I'm sure you'll get to chat to him sometime in the future anyway. -
I think there was a post about this a month or so back.... um... yep, here it is http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=24989&view=&hl=&fromsearch=1

He could stick them on his ass and he'd have much the same effect. I've used patches a few times in my life and if you forget to take it off at night, yeah, you have very intense dreams. Subjectively quite different from Calea, but probably both about as profound as one another IMO.

Tumbleweed rolling around in my mind
Rabaelthazar replied to botanika's topic in Creativity, Spirituality & Philosophy
Yeah, I'm in exactly the same sitch. Ezi-Drummer is good and I've used it a a bit, but I found Kitcore to be really good for just getting a reasonable sounding beat down quickly and it costs bugger all, like 70 bucks or something. Check it out. <edit> link to free demo http://www.drumcore.com/TemplateMain.aspx?contentId=145
