    Panaeolus cyanescens?

Do cubensis lose less potency than pan cyans when dried? If so, any idea why?

Hmm I think I was a bit hasty with using cubes as an example. I was just trying to highlight that while ethno communities often advocate for behaviours that encourage population growth of the species being harvested, this risks disadvantaging other species sharing the same environment. Thanks for the background on the toad issue, Flux. I’m looking forward to the new season of Hamilton’s and have been resisting the urge to binge it. Interesting that Shy mentions the potential hazardous impacts of Shaman’s of the Global Village, when I saw the Lophophora episode I was disappointed that the issue of plant conservation was not really addressed in that either.

Just to complicate things, I imagine there are environments where P. cubensis competes with vulnerable species. In these cases maybe we would aim to reduce the spread of spores?

Cactus of the month year day thread? Which cactus is really shining for you right now?

I think this is some gozilla hybrid but I lost the label, excited to see it taking some form. Also very excited to see this butt graft pop, I did a few for lols but didn't expect them to work. I guess I better stop throwing them away...

    Harvest Ethics

But how do we ensure we are taking sufficient care in our individual harvesting or cultivation choices? If I want to cultivate for conservation purposes, for example, how do I choose which plants and how many of each to grow? I don't think there are clear or easy answers to these questions. My approach has just been to search for where my interests, experience and conservation issues intersect, to learn as much as I can about these intersections and apply my own effort in these contexts however I can. I dream of better organisation of consumers, gardeners, horticulturalists, ecologists, etc. as this would improve my confidence in making plant-related decisions. Sometimes it can feel like an overwhelming responsibility. I was even a bit hesitant to post that meme - maybe there could be big and scary implications if everyone started grafting to wild Opuntia.

Psilocybin Mushrooms of SE QLD, Australia

Hey Macca, I had a search for subs in Tba earlier this year when the conditions were right, mostly in the local commercial pine forests. Didn't see any, and haven't met anyone who has found subs around here. Cubes are on the local sp. list and I know a number of people who have found them, but I think at the moment we could still use more rain <3

We've had a decent bit of rain but the ground in Toowoomba is still dry as. Heading out Brisbane way this weekend and will make sure to have a peruse of the paddocks on the way

Caught King Stingray supporting The Chats on the weekend, stole the show. Great to see a First Nations front man singing in his language. Killing it!

    Seed suggestions

About to have some room in my germination boxes and am pondering what to grow next, any suggestions? Interested in anything rare, psychoactive or weird looking that can be grafted to pere and trichs.

    Getting rid of pereskiopsis

Getting rid of my pere, my partner has been spiked one too many times. Interested in trades but if you're really keen and have nothing to swap that's okay. If you haven't tried grafting before and want to have a go I'd be happy to throw in a small container of seedlings for you to chop and up play with. Ideally you would pick up from Toowoomba.

    Aquatic cactus/pere alternative

I've been having a lot of success with pere grafts in lo-tek deep water culture. Is there any other grafting stock that can handle rooting in a liquid medium? Ideally something without glochids, so I'm allowed to have grafts on the windowsill again

I'm not sure. They don't seem to bother my plants but they are absolutely everywhere here
  23. I've never seen a regular TBM go for anything near $500 on the auction group, and I pay pretty close attention. Sometimes you get lucky with noobs who overbid (I think I saw an 8cm unremarkable, unnamed pachanoi pup go for $50 the other day) but if Jeans is attached to this plant auctioning with an expectation for more than $200 is a bit of a risk. I went through the past 150 or so TBM auctions on the page and the highest price one has gone for is $200 for a plant on its own roots of a similar size to Jeans' - https://www.facebook.com/groups/1316453921842330/permalink/1760240260797025 Some other highish TBM auction bids from the group for the curious https://www.facebook.com/groups/1316453921842330/permalink/1756921347795583/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/1316453921842330/permalink/1708922139262171/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/1316453921842330/permalink/1718515141636204/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/1316453921842330/permalink/1703944516426600/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/1316453921842330/permalink/1710236422464076/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/1316453921842330/permalink/1762114667276251/
