    Aztekium

First I have to admit that marijuana is a gateway drug to becoming a cactophile ..... At least in my case. Although I stopped using marijuana since 05 but my love for cacti still grows. So anyway.... I ordered som aztekium seeds (and a bunch of other seeds) from koehres and they arrived yesterday. I already planted them and hopefully they'll germinate .... I'm saying this cuz a few years back I ordered different kinds of seeds from koehres and some had poor germination rates and other never germinated at all. Let's hope for the best. The soil mic I've done is different then any previous soil mix I've done. It's 70% rocks and pebbles (20% of which is dolomite) and the remaining 20% is a mixture of compost and coir. I added a thin layer of coir on top so all the seeds get equal amount of water in their germination stage
  3. Unfortunately, I can't help, but I really appreciate what you're doing for the Trichocereus community.

    SG ID's

I wouldn't label a unknown cutting with a clone's name. There's is a big chance it's not the same clone and if you spread the cutting around with that name, it'll cause a lot of confusion ;) I think in the near future we'll see crosses of lumberjackusXlumberjackus or eileenXeileen. Just sharing my thoughts;)

    Tbm & Tpm from seed

"The T. pachanoi "quasi-cristata" (TPQC) is a non-PC pachanoi type that grew crested after an apparent snail attack - maybe it is genetic in there somewhere and the snail attack caused it to come out, or maybe it is purely from the infection - regardless its a beautiful pachanoi though I haven't taken good care of it these past couple years.." What did you do to your cacti today?

Since I can't move, I made this poor man's setup. One tray has nitrogen's 6 new crosses, the other tray has 6 crosses from zelly.

    TPM x TP Graft

So what does TP stand for? Trichocereus pachanoi or Trichocereus peruvianus?
  10. Update, all 6 crosses have ~100% germination rate Edit - there's a huge difference when germinating fresh seeds from fellow collectors like, nitrogen zelly ect and seeds from big companies like Koehres. At one point I started to doubt my seed germination skills. Now that I germinated good fresh seeds from both nitro and zelly (100% germ rate), I advice noobs to make sure they have good seeds before questioning their germination methods and soil mix).

    Myrtillocactus geometrizans monstrosa variations

I've seen the gigantic form and its as fat as gigantic trichocereus.

    Myrtillocactus geometrizans monstrosa variations

A friend of mine had one, the girth is ridiculous.
  13. So I germinated a sample (~ 10 seeds of each cross) and the 1st to germinate for me are #3 (Sharkxx Blue X TPM) til now. I planted all these sample seeds on the 19th of November. I thought I would document this, so we could compare our germination results.

Zelly's trich crosses, got pics? post here please

Thanks zelly The package passed....I can't believe The variety of seeds is amazing. Once I can move again...I'll set up a shelf and I'll start germinating all these little gods. Thanks buddy...
  17. Nitrogen, my brother. Thanks from mother Africa. The seeds have arrived safely. It's kind of amazing how they passed smoothly through the customs and the post office and came directly to my house. I must admit, I'm so excited for all 6 crosses. About "To have the spirit of achuma in mind and spirit in such transactions.." Last year, I cut a lot of cristated and monstrose pups and gave them as gifts to of local cactophiles (that don't like Trichocereus). Now all of them fell in love with the genus. One of these guys came back from Europe with a few different varieties of crested and monstrose pachanois and gave me a cutting from a crest and another from a monstrose for free. Your generosity has made a chain reaction here (and I'm sure in other places) and it's beautiful to see it develop and get bigger ......and most of all, to be part of it. Thank you my brother.......you are a legend.

    Ariocarpus appreciation thread.

Thanks my friend. I've had 3 A. fissuratus for almost 5-6 years and they flower each fall. I'm probably impatient, but 2 flowered this season so far. This year I added 6 different species and non of them are showing signs of budding.

    tbm A flower bud fuzz

Thanks my friend. If this is the time to flower, I guess the buds will always rotting, as fall is the season when my tbm crest get severely attacked by the weeping black rot. I thought that next season would be better a better chance for my grafts, however the one that produced flower buds got too heavy and fell off the stock...so I'm rooting it. The other grafts looks extremely heavy for the connection point of the graft, so I kind of doubt that it's hold up for a long time.... As a graft. Kadakuda - cheers my friend.... SJ - both mine and Kadakuda's are the same clone...from mitosis (from the Nook) and he got it from Bob Smoley.
