i once knew a guy who wasn't content with the level of pain relief he was getting from commercial codeine pills. so he went to the lycaeum and found out how to easily extract codeine from them. i wouldn't want to fuck around too often with this sort of thing but i suppose if it hurts enough the end justifies the means.

i don't think they're as bad as people make them out to be. yeah, they're a little slow (actually, very) but isn't that what growing plants is about, patience? aside from that and hyper-flated prices, i think they're reliable. from my experience.

waterproof as in the membrane itself won't be affected by water, but will let water go through it. it's like a criss-cross of fine fibres, keeping the soil from falling through but water can drain fine.

I've found that the best is waterproof membrane, which i think you can pick up at most hardware shops. But use your imagination... heaps of things will work.

yeah i was gonna post something about this. the other day the damn sniffer dogs were on my train platform... i freaked out! sniffer dogs are like being searched without being searched... not intrusive enough for the general public to kick up a fuss, cos in the end "nothing to hide, nothing to fear". it got me thinking though, what are the drug smelling capacities of these lovely creatures turned tools of evil? - can they smell obscure compounds or just the mainstream drugs? - in what amounts? or is it even the slightest scent... a friend of mine almost got cavity searched at an airport for having a tiny big of bud that got stuck to his sock! - any way to fool them? pardon me if these qs are in another post.

darklight, give me a party that stands for what i believe in and i'll vote for them. i know it's wrong but sometimes i feel there isn't a cause out there worthy of fighting for. maybe i'm just a disillusioned young man, but i'm fed up atm. why i haven't enrolled has nothing to do with laziness. it has to do with exercising a right. i know it'd suck if we had low turnout like in the states, but i still think i shouldn't be obliged to vote if i chose not to. i lose something, yes i agree, but i gain something as well.

not quite an ethnobotanical, but i have read heaps into ketamine and am considering trying it. if i'm ever able to get a hold of it. has anyone out there had a journey into the mysterious k-hole? were u prepared, or completely blown away? was it a life-changing experience, or just another kick? so many questions.

gomaos, as stan zemanek would say "that's your opinion and you're welcome to it" in my more impressionable days, i supported One Nation... yes, i'll admit it. It wasn't a matter of being racist because i thought about what hanson was saying; to me it wasn't about kicking out asians but it was about "EQUAL RIGHTS, NOT SPECIAL TREATMENT". i don't agree with One Nation anymore, but i think that when we start banning parties, we become totalitarian. old joe would be proud. and to this ongoing religious debate about the evil of islam. i see christianity as being no better. any belief pushed to extremes will result in oppression and intolerance. if i had my way, i'd remove all religions except ones on a case to case basis. as soon as you start believing in anything but yourself, that's where the trouble starts... but then again, we get back to the fact that we'd be thrusting our beliefs upon other people, the same thing that you undoubtedly despise in islam.

I haven't enrolled. Maybe I never will. Hopefully they won't catch me.

kidding. i don't agree with banning binge stories, but i don't think anyone should be posting them. it's just a rule that we should all recognise. as though we're above that sort of thing. i mean, yeah taking drugs is fun, but what about all the insight u gained from it? i don't know about the rest of you, but i take drugs to become a better person. they've helped me resolve a lot of personal problems and find answers to my questions. i only came to this board a short time ago, but i was expecting people to post more on their amazing realisations on so and so, the philosophical insights from taking this and that. i think we should have people posting more in-depth trip reports. writing about your adventures, explaining WHY it was such a good experience. sharing something u've learnt from it with all of us. after all, it's this very insight that we gain that makes entheogens illegal in the first place. my two cents.

pretty incredible stuff. i wake up and mum tells me that the twin towers have collapsed. crazy crazy world. i'd hate to think about the US response to all of this. looks to spark a very hostile situation with bin laden... what frightens me is that dubya said he's holding the countries that habour him just as responsible... big war ahead.
